Wrestling International New Generations (1993-1994)[]

After Takayama started a temporary business that failed and led to his homelessness, he would move to Tokyo, eventually making his way to Wrestling International New Generations (WING). There, he made his debut under his real name against Masahiko Takasugi on January 28, 1993. He would start a rivalry with fellow wrestler WING Kanemura before the promotion collapsed. It was in this feud where he changed his name to Hido. The feud with Kanemura ended after Kanemura defeated Hido in a street fight match where the loser would have to leave WING.

Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (1994-2000)[]

Hido would debut in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW) as a member of the WING Alliance led by Mr. Pogo who wrestled in Atsushi Onita's FMW. After Onita's retirement, he would become the ace of FMW. Due to a neck injury, he competed less frequently. In his FMW run, he would find the most success with his Hido character, subsequently winning numerous FMW championships such as the FMW Brass Knuckles Tag Team Champion and the FMW World Street Fight 6-Man Tag Team Championship Tag Team Champion. He was also part of the NWO-like stable ZEN, in which he attempted to return FMW to its old deathmatch ideology. In 1999, after losing a match in a FMW show in Yokohama, he would rename himself to Willie Takayama, a character with a karate gimmick. In the mid 2000s, Takayama would be sent to a long-term excursion to the United States.

Excursion to the United States (2000-2001)[]

After Takayama was sent to the United States he would compete on the American independent circuit, competing in IWA Mid-South, where he would make his debut against hardcore legend Sabu. Later he would take part of the IWA Mid-South's King Of The Deathmatches tournament. In IWA Mid-South he would have a feud with Necro Butcher, the two would even face each other in a Falls Count Anywhere match, where Takayama was victorious. During this feud, he would go on to win the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Championship. Ultimately, the feud ended after Butcher defeated Takayama in a match where the loser would have to leave IWA Mid-South. As a result, Takayama vacated the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Championship in the process.

Return to Japan (2001-2004)[]

When Takayama returned to Japan, he would leave FMW. Later, he would appear in Big Japan Pro Wrestling, which was in a storyline feud with the CZW Warriors at the time. In 2002, after Jun Kasai left the CZW Warriors, he and Hido formed the stable Red Viper.

He also worked as a key member of World Entertainment Wrestling, which, at the time, was invading Pro Wrestling ZERO-ONE. In WEW, Hido won their Hardcore Tag Team Championship with YOSHIYA. After Hiromichi Fuyuki's death, WEW changed its name to the Apache Pro Wrestling Army.

Apache Pro Wrestling Army (2004-2008)[]

After the dissolution of WEW, he would then sign with Apache Pro Wrestling Army as well as Big Japan Pro Wrestling by way of their working relationship. Hido would unsuccessfully challenge Ryuji Ito for the BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship. Despite the unsuccessful challenge, Hido and Ito would later go on to win the BJW Tag Team Championship.

Hido, alongside GOEMON and Kanemura, appeared on Riki Choshu's promotion Fighting World of Japan Pro Wrestling. There, he and Kanemura won the WMG Tag Team Championship, but would later vacate the titles after they split up as a team. Hido would then team up with Tetsuhiro Kuroda to win the WMG Tag Team Championship for a second time.

Hido would take part of the feud between Apache Pro and New Japan Pro Wrestling, entering a feud with NJPW wrestler Jushin Thunder Liger in the process.

Hido would help Takashi Sasaki double cross Jun Kasai, creating the Takashi Corps stable. At this time, Hido would rename himself to BADBOY Hido and would carry a barbed wire stick, or scissors during his entrances.

In February 2008, Kintaro Kanemura had a sexual harassment scandal. This led Hido to left Apache Pro on March 23. In June, he returned to the Apache Army. Later, in August, he would rejoin Red Viper.

Post Apache Pro Wrestling Army (2008-2013)[]

Beginning in April 2010, Hido went inactive, later returning to the ring on June 29, 2012. In his return, he would compete for Pro Wrestling Freedoms and Real Japan Pro Wrestling. He would then work his last recorded match for Pro Wrestling Zero1 in 2013, and has since not returned.
