Tatsuya Hayama (葉山達也 Hayama Tatsuya, born December 24, 1991) is a Japanese professional wrestler, better known by the ring name DOUKI, where he currently works for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), , where he is a former one-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. He also appeared most notably for Michinoku Pro Wrestling (MPW) and Kaientai Dojo (K-Dojo), where he was a member of Magatsuki.
He was trained by Jorge Rivera and Ultimo Dragon at Toryumon Mexico and made his debut in December 2008, working in the Mexican independent circuit most notably for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) and International Wrestling League (IWL), before returning to Japan in 2015, working for Kaientai Dojo. In Mexico, Douki formed a team named Los Japoneses del Mal with Daisuke Hanaoka as a homage to Los Perros del Mal stable. DOUKI made his NJPW debut in May 2019, replacing an injured El Desperado at the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. Although pushed for most of his career as an undercarder without any major championship wins, DOUKI's status in NJPW finally began rising in early 2023 with Just 5 Guys that led him to capture the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in July 2024.
Professional wrestling career[]
Early Career and Mexico (2008–2015)[]
Hayama was born in Japan, he moved to Naucalpan, Mexico in 2008 at 17 years old to become a professional wrestler. He would be trained by fellow Japanese compatriot Ultimo Dragon and Jorge Rivera in Toryumon Gym, learning the Mexican Lucha Libre style of wrestling. In December, Hayama made his professional wrestling debut under the ring name Tatsuya teaming with Negro Navarro in a winning effort against Mazada and Nosawa. As part of a working relationship between Toryumon Mexico and International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), working for the promotion until 2018. Hayama also worked extensively in the Mexican independent circuit and International Wrestling League forming a team with Daisuke Hanaoka named Los Japoneses del Mal as a homage to Los Perros del Mal stable. Until 2012, Hayama worked unmasked until adopting a new gimmick named "DOUKI", where he started to use a mask and a facepaint, which he would become known for. In Mexico, sometimes Hayama had to clean toilets to earn a meal on the Mexican independent circuit.
Kaientai Dojo (2015–2019)[]
On October 18, 2015, DOUKI made his debut for Kaientai Dojo teaming with Kotaro Yoshino and Ricky Fuji in a losing effort against SFU (Bambi, Kaji Tomato and Shiori Asahi). Following the match, Yuma offered DOUKI to join Magatsuki, as his partner for the upcoming match on November 1 at Korakuen Hall for the WEW Hardcore Tag Team Championship, which he accepted. On November 1 at Korakuen Hall, DOUKI and Yuma failed to win the WEW Hardcore Tag Team Championship. DOUKI would make his last for the promotion on November 14, teaming with Yuma in a losing effort against Kaji Tomato and Taka Michinoku.
Douki returned to the promotion on September 18, 2017, still recognized as member of Magatsuki, defeating Syrus in a two out of three falls match. He would appear for the promotion until October, taking part of a Captain's Fall match between Magatsuki and RoS, which Magatsuki were feuding with and lost the match. He would later return for two matches in April 2019, which became his last appearance for the promotion.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling (2019–Present)[]
Through the relations with Taka Michinoku and his promotion Kaientai Dojo, DOUKI started to appear in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. On May 10, DOUKI was introduced by Taichi as Suzuki-gun hired him, becoming the newest member of the stable. He would replace his Suzuki-gun stablemate El Desperado in the 2019 Best of the Super Juniors after he suffered a broken jaw. He finished the tournament with a record of one win and seven losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament. Afterwards, DOUKI began losing most of his matches, working mostly on the undercard. In January 2020, DOUKI returned to Japan to take part in the Fantastica Mania 2020 event, lost all of his matches, with his last match being on January 20 teaming with Suzuki-gun stablemate Yoshinobu Kanemaru in a losing effort against Fuego and Ryusuke Taguchi. From November 15 until December 6, DOUKI took part in the 2020 Best of the Super Juniors, finishing the tournament with a record of two wins and seven losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament. From November 13 until December 11, DOUKI took part in the 2021 Best of the Super Juniors, finishing the tournament with a record of three wins and eight losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament.
In March 2022, DOUKI took part in the 2022 New Japan Cup, losing in the second round to Suzuki-gun stablemate Zack Sabre Jr. In May, DOUKI took part in the 2022 Best of the Super Juniors, finishing the tournament with a record of three wins and six losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament. From November 21 until December 11, DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru took part in the 2022 Super Jr. Tag League, finishing the tournament with a record four wins and five losses, failing to win the tournament. On December 14, Minoru Suzuki announced that Suzuki-gun would disband by the end of the year. On December 23, Suzuki-gun had their final match, with every Suzuki-gun member hoisting the Suzuki-gun banner and posing one last time.
On January 5, 2023, at New Year Dash!, DOUKI alongside former Suzuki-gun members Taichi, Taka Michinoku, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru announced the formation of "Just Four Guys", with its namesake referring to the four of them. The stable's official match took place shortly after, with DOUKI, Taichi and Kanemaru facing United Empire's Will Ospreay, Francesco Akira and TJP in a winning effort. Following the match, DOUKI and Kanemaru challenged Akira and TJP to a title match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, before a brawl broke out between both sides. The attack saw DOUKI and Kanemaru target IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Akira and TJP. On February 4, at The New Beginning in Sapporo, DOUKI and Kanemaru unsuccesfully challenged Akira and TJP for IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. In May, DOUKI took part in the 2023 Best of the Super Juniors, finishing the tournament with a record of three wins and six losses, failling to advance to the semifinals of the tournament. From October 21 to November 2, DOUKI and Michinoku took part in the 2023 Super Jr. Tag League, finishing the tournament with a record two wins and seven losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament.
On April 6 2024, at Sakura Genesis, after Sho retained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Yoh, DOUKI and Kosei Fujita confronted Sho, and challenged him to a title match. In response, Sho refused both men's challenge leading Fujita to attack him, before DOUKI and Fujita confronted each other, with Fujita holding the title belt in his hand. Shorlty after, Sho declared the winner between the two could challenge him in a title match. On April 14 at Wrestling World, DOUKI defeated Fujita to become the number one contender to the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. On April 23, during a press conference, DOUKI, who held SHO’s physical IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship belt ever since Sakura Genesis stated he would only allow SHO his property back if the contract for their match was signed with no issues. Afterwards, SHO got in the challenger’s face, allowing the contract to fall to the mat. Dick Togo was accompining Sho, swithced the contract to a fake one, before passing it to SHO. SHO conveniently covered up the top of the contract as he and SHO both signed, with Sho later revealing that contract read ‘NOT IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship’ with small print on the page stating "this would be a non title matchup", but on April 27, DOUKI forced Sho to sign a legitimate title match contract, in order not to suffer a broken leg, making the title match official. Two days later, at Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni, DOUKI unsucessfully challenged Sho for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. In May, DOUKI took part in the 2024 Best of the Super Juniors, finishing the tournament with a record of six wins and three losses, advancing to the semifinals of the tournament. On June 3, DOUKI was defeated by former Suzuki-gun stablemate El Desperado in the semi-finals. On June 16, DOUKI challenged Desperado to a rematch for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, which he won the title for the first time by defeating Desperado on July 5. He held the title until Wrestle Kingdom 19 in Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2025, losing the title back to El Desperado, after the referee was forced to stop the match, due to DOUKI suffering an injury on his right-arm.
