Miguel Ángel Olivo Castro (born June 19, 1988), better known by the ring name Daga, is a Mexican professional wrestler, who is currently working for Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH (NOAH), where he is a former two-time GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion and a former GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. He also worked for Dragon Gate (DG), as part of R.E.D.

Professional wrestling career[]

Early career (2008–2011)[]

Daga made his pro wrestling debut in 2008, wrestling for Profesionales de la Lucha Libre Mexicana (PROLLM) and freelance shows in Coacalco de Berriozábal. He then made his International Wrestling Revolution Group debut in 2009. He spent the next two years in the promotion. Also, Daga worked with other independent promotions, like Toryumon Mexico, International Wrestling League and Desastre Total Ultraviolento. On September 25, 2010, Daga won his first pro wrestling championship, the IWL Internet Championship. On December 18, 2010, Daga participated in a tournament to crown the first DTU Alto Impacto Champion, but he was defeated by Flamita.

Dragon Gate (2018)[]

On October 21, Eita announced on his twitter page, that Daga would join R.E.D become the newest member of the stable. He made his debut in Dragon Gate on November 4, at Gate of Destiny, where Daga, along with his stablemates Eita, Kazma Sakamoto and Yasushi Kanda defeated Kagetora, Yosuke♡Santa Maria, U-T and Kota Minoura. Daga's tenrue with Dragon Gate lasted until Final Gate, on December 23, where he was defeated by Masaaki Mochizuki.

Pro Wrestling Noah (2023–present)[]

Daga made his debut in Pro Wrestling Noah on February 5, where he teamed up with Eita, Nosawa Rongai, Chris Ridgeway and Yoshinari Ogawa to face Alejandro, AMAKUSA, Junta Miyawaki, Seiki Yoshioka and YO-HEY in a winning effort. Soon after, Daga became Eita's ally in his feud with Yoshinari Ogawa. On May 4 at Majestic, Daga and Eita faced Ogawa and Chris Ridgeway. During match, he turned on Eita to join Stinger. Afterwards, Ogawa announced that he, Daga and Chris Ridgeway were the "new Stinger" and that HAYATA and Eita where not considered members anymore. On June 22, Daga and Stinger stablemate Ridgeway defeated Good Looking Guys (Tadasuke and YO-HEY), to win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. They vacated the titles on September 5, after Ridgeway left NOAH. On September 24 at Grand Ship In Nagoya, Daga attacked HAYATA after he successfully defended the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, before challenging him to a title match. On November 4 at Demolition Stage In Niigata, Daga defeated HAYATA to become the new champion. He lost the title to AMAKUSA on July 13 at Destination, in his eight title defense, ending his reign at 251 days. On August 13, Stinger disbanded, after Ogawa retired due to a neck injury.

On September 1, Daga defeated AMAKUSA to regain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. On October 7, Daga pretended to help Anthony Greene, after Jack Morris and a masked wrestler attacked him. Afterwards, Daga turned on Greene, aliging himself with Morris and the masked wrestler, before the three attacked Morris and Greene's former stablemate LJ Cleary. On October 14, the mystery member was revealed to Yoshitatsu, with the three naming their stable "Team 2000 X". On January 1, 2025, at The New Year, Daga lost the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship to Eita in a Two-out-of-three falls "Lucha Libre rules" match, in a rematch from 2024 The New Year. On Janaury 25, Omos handed his half of the GHC Tag Team Championship to Daga, after he announced that he would be leaving Noah to return to WWE. Subsquently, Daga announced his move the heavyweight division. Two days later, the GHC committee announced that they do not honor Omos' transfer and the titles would be vacated instead. However, Daga and Morris refused to relinquish the titles, leading to a match on April 6, where they defeated Galeno and Kaito Kiyomiya to become the new champions. They lost the titles to Kenoh and Ulka Sasaki on May 3, at Memorial Voyage in Kokugikan.

Personal life[]

On November 20, 2019, Daga and Tessa Blanchard confirmed their engagement. The couple married in August 2020. They announced their separation on January 9, 2023.
