The Dangerous Gate (2023) was a professional wrestling event promoted by Dragon Gate (DG). The event took place on August 20, 2023, in Tokyo at the Ota Ward General Gymnasium and it was the twentieth annual event under the Dangerous Gate name.
The event was main event by Madoka Kikuta defending the Open The Dream Gate Championship against the winner of the 2023 King of Gate Kota Minoura. The event aired on GAORA and the Dragon Gate Network streaming service.

Background[]
The Dangerous Gate 2023 was officially announced on May 1, 2023. The aired live through Dragon Gate's internet streaming site, Dragon Gate Network, with Japanese and English language commentaries. The Japanese commentary was provided by Katsuya Ichikawa, while the English commentary was provided by Jae Church and Ho Ho Lun. The event also aired on tape delay on Japanese TV Gaora Sports that was launched in Dragon Gate's ~ Infinity ~ Series.
On August 19, Minorita was diagnosed with a ruptured ACL in his right knee, leading him to be pulled out for the event.

Kota Minoura, who challenged Madoka Kikuta for the Open The Dream Gate Championship at the main event
The Dangerous Gate (2023) was main event by Madoka Kikuta defending the Open The Dream Gate Championship against the winner of the 2023 King of Gate Kota Minoura. On August 3, Minoura defeated Big Boss Shimizu in the finals to win 2023 King of Gate and earn a title match for the Open The Dream Gate Championship. Following the match, Minoura was confronted by reigning Open The Dream Gate Champion Madoka Kikuta.

Mochizuki Junior, who challenged ISHIN for the Open The Brave Gate Championship
Also on August 3, following a six-man tag team match, Mochizuki Junior challenged ISHIN to a title match for the Open The Brave Gate Championship. ISHIN initially refused, but then reluctantly accepted, setting up a title match at Dangerous Gate.
During that show, Fujita Jr. Hayato made his return to Dragon Gate, challenging YAMATO to a match at Dangerous Gate. It was also announced for the show, that Masaaki Mochizuki and Don Fujii would team with New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Tomohiro Ishii to face Ben-K, Yuki Yoshioka and Strong Machine J.
On August 6, Natural Vibes (Jacky "Funky" Kamei and Jason Lee) faced Z-Brats (H.Y.O and KAI) in a match to determine the number one contenders to the Open The Twin Gate Championship. The match ended in a double count out and shortly after, Natural Vibes and Z-Brats made the challenge for the Open The Twin Gate Championship, leading a three-way match to be announced for the Dangerous Gate.
