The Dangerous Gate (2024) was a professional wrestling event promoted by Dragon Gate (DG). The event took place on August 12, 2024, in Yokohama at the Yokohama Budokan and it was the thirteenth annual event under the Dangerous Gate name.

The event was main event by YAMATO defending the Open The Dream Gate Championship against Madoka Kikuta. The event aired on GAORA and the Dragon Gate Network streaming service.

Background[]

The Dangerous Gate 2024 was officially announced on July 2, 2024. The aired live through Dragon Gate's internet streaming site, Dragon Gate Network, with Japanese and English language commentaries. The Japanese commentary was provided by Katsuya Ichikawa, while the English commentary was provided by Jae Church and Ho Ho Lun. The event also aired on tape delay on Japanese TV Gaora Sports that was launched in Dragon Gate's ~ Infinity ~ Series.

Storylines[]

The Dangerous Gate (2024) featured professional wrestling matches that involved wrestlers from pre-existing feuds and storylines that played out on the Dragon Gate's television program. Wrestlers portrayed heroes or villains as they followed a series of events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.

MadokaKikuta

The Dangerous Gate (2024) was main event by YAMATO defending the Open The Dream Gate Championship against Madoka Kikuta. On July 28, Kikuta, who dubbed himself as the new Reiwa era flag-bearer, challenged YAMATO to a title match for the Open The Dream Gate Championship.

At that event, after Big Hug failed to win the Open The Brave Gate and Open The Twin Gate Championships on July 21 at Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival, Hyo, Luís Mante and Jacky Kamei challenged Natural Vibes (Big Boss Shimizu, Strong Machine J and U-T) to a title match for the Open The Twin Gate Championship.

On August 1, Minorita was defeated by Kota Minoura. Afterwards, Shun Skywalker placed a mask on him and Minorita appeared to be brainwashed as "Mini Skywalker", leading Minoura to save him and remove the mask. However, as Gold Class was leaving Z-Brats kidnapped Minorita. Later that night, Minoura demanded Skywalker to return him, but Skywalker insisted that Minorita was his property, leading Minoura to challenge him to a match at Dangerous Gate.

On July 16, Pro Wrestling Noah's Junta Miyawaki made his debut in Dragon Gate. After winning his match, Miyawaki hinted that he would challenge for the Open The Brave Gate Championship, which he formalized on August 1, challenging Dragon Dia to a match at Dangerous Gate.

Also on August 1, Shuji Kondo introduced Kuroshio Tokyo Japan to Dragon Gate, before both challenged Dragon Kid and Naruki Doi to a title match for the Open The Twin Gate Championship at Dangerous Gate.
