Marcos Meza (born August 12, 1984), better known by his ring name Dante Leon, is an American professional wrestler currently working for Pro Wrestling Noah (Noah), where he is a former GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion.
Professional wrestling career[]
Early career[]
After giving up college, a long time wrestling fan, Meza decided to embark on a professional wrestling career being trained by Marek Brave and Seth Rollins in the Black And Brave Wrestling Academy, and making his debuted in June 2016 for Proving Ground Pro under the ring name Dante Leon. He initially wrestled on the independent circuit in Texas, before moving to Atlantic city featuring for promotions such as Capitol Wrestling, Loko Wrestling, SCW Pro Wrestling and the Iron Spirit Pro. On December 16, 2019, Leon appeared as a jobber on World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) weekly television show Monday Night Raw, losing to Erick Rowan.
Pro Wrestling NOAH (2022–Present)[]
On June 17, 2022, it was announced that Leon would be making his debut for Pro Wrestling NOAH at Destination on July 16. At the event, Leon faced long time rival Ninja Mack in a losing effort. He had intended to make his debut for the promotion the previous year, but has been unable to enter the country due to Japan's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and a rise in cases stemming from the omicron variant. On October 30, Leon challenged the winner of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship match between HAYATA and Ninja Mack to a title match. After Mack won the title Leon became his first challenger. On November 10 at Global Honored Crown, Leon defeated Ninja Mack to win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. He lost the title to AMAKUSA on December 23.
In May 2023, Leon began a short feud with HAYATA, after he was attacked by Stinger, whom he had been recently feuding with, Leon removed the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship belt, so they couldn't hit HAYATA with it, challenging him to a title match on May 21. On June 17 at Green Journey in Nagoya, Leon unsucessfully challenged HAYATA for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship.
