The Dead or Alive is an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event and GAORA TV event promoted by Dragon Gate in the month of May since 2013 was on May 5. The event has been held annually since 2008 as a pay-per-view (PPV). The event took place every year in Aichi.
The attendance has decreased all over the years until 2012. Then the attendance has increased since 2013. Since 2009 the event didn't feature the Steel Cage Survival 6 Way Match until 2012 it featured a unit vs unit match. Then in 2013, it didn't feature the Steel Cage Survival 6 Way Match and the unit vs unit match. In 2014 the Steel Cage Survival 6 Way Match returned it a new stipulation that their scapegoat would lose their Hair or Mask. In 2015 it was added a new stipulation where the person that participate at the Steel Cage Survival 6 Way Match and his delegate would lose their Hair or Mask but the delegate could be free where the person that participates in the cage match could free his delegate by pinfall or submission.
In 2016 it was added a stipulation that the loser of the Steel Cage Survival 6 Way Match would be bald for one year. In 2018 the events from 2014 and after became available in their streaming service Dragon Gate Network. The 2020 edition of the event, would be canceled, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, following Japan's declaration of State of Emergency.
