The event is NJPW's biggest between Wrestle Kingdom 19 and July–August's G1 Climax. The event aired through NJPW's internet streaming site, New Japan Pro Wrestling World, and featured English commentary.

Hirooki Goto, who defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
Dominion 6.15 in Osaka-jo Hall was headlined by Jon Moxley made his seventh title defense of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Shingo Takagi. On May 4 at Wrestling Dontaku, after Hirooki Goto successfully defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Callum Newman, he asked for his next challenger, leading to appear Zack Sabre Jr., who Goto defeated to win the title in February. Sabre vowed to regain the title, and Goto accepted his title challenge. However, Shingo Takagi also challenged Goto to a title match. On May 9 at Resurgence, Goto faced Sabre in a time limit draw, setting up the title match for the event.
On February 11, at The New Beginning in Osaka, EVIL and Dick Togo, who had previously suggested their potential departure from NJPW, entered the ring and initially implied that they were severing ties with the House of Torture. However, this was revealed to be a deceptive tactic, subsequently, the House of Torture turned against Gabe Kidd, attacking him. Following these events, EVIL declared that War Dogs would no longer be associated with the Bullet Club, leading to a feud between both sides, which culminated to a Dogpound Steel Cage match on May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku, which War Dogs won, forcing House of Torture out of Bullet Club. Aftewrwards, a furious EVIL, unwilling to accept defeat, wrapped a steel chain around David Finlay's neck and began choking him against the cage wall. In a post-match interview, Finlay challenged EVIL to a Dog Collar Match.

Gabe Kidd, who challenged for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship
At Wrestling Dontaku, after Yota Tsuji successfully defended the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Yuya Uemura, he was confronted by Gabe Kidd, who challenged Tsuji to a title match at Dominion, due to their previous encounter on February 11, at The New Beginning Osaka, ending in a draw, after both men were knocked out.
On April 26, at Wrestling Redzone in Hiroshima, Callum Newman and Great-O-Khan defeated Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi to win the vacant IWGP Tag Team Championship. After the match, Taichi, who had recently made an alliance with Tomohiro Ishii, decided alongside him to challenge Newman and O-Khan to a title match.

Konosuke Takeshita, who defended the NEVER Openweight Championship
At Wrestling Dontaku, following a tag team match, Oleg Boltin challenged Konosuke Takeshita to a rematch. During the year, both faced each other in a title match for the NEVER Openweight Championship at The New Beginning in Osaka, which Takeshita won to retain his title. After Takeshita successfully defended his title against El Phantasmo at Resurgence, NJPW announced the title match on May 12.
In May, during the 2025 Best of the Super Juniors, House of Torture's Sho and Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Yoh and Master Wato in their block matches, using dirty tatics, which drew the ire of Wato, after costing him a spot in the finals of the tournament and injuring his knee. The use of same tatics continued on May 29, and on June 1, during a post-match interview, Sho and Kanemaru attacked Wato, before challenging him to a title match.
