Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall (2024) was a professional wrestling event promoted by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The event took place on June 9, 2024, in Osaka, Osaka, at the Osaka-jō Hall and is the sixteenth event under the Dominion name and tenth in a row to take place at the Osaka-jō Hall. The event was headlined by El Desperado facing Taiji Ishimori in the finals of the 2024 Best of the Super Juniors, marking the first time the tournament featured in the main event of Dominion.

Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall was officially announced on January 4, 2023, during Wrestle Kingdom 18 in Tokyo Dome. The event is NJPW's biggest between Wrestle Kingdom 17 and July–August's G1 Climax. The event aired through NJPW's internet streaming site, New Japan Pro Wrestling World, and featured English commentary.

Jon Moxley, the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, who defended his title against EVIL
Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall was headlined by the finals 2024 Best of the Super Juniors. The tournament matches took place between May 11 until June 4. On May 19, it was announced that the tournament finals would replace the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match in the main event of Dominion, with the title match being demoted to the Co-main event. On June 3, Taiji Ishimori and El Desperado defeated TJP and DOUKI, respectively to reach the finals of the tournament, setting up the main event for Dominion.
At the event, Jon Moxley made his fourth title defense of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against EVIL. On May 11 at Resurgence, Moxley successfully defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against his protege Shota Umino. Afterwards, Moxley was attacked by House of Torture's EVIL and Ren Narita. EVIL then challenged Moxley to a title match. EVIL then changed his mind, calling himself the real champion and Moxley would need to challenge him. EVIL then spray painted the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship belt black and stood over Moxley. Two days later, NJPW announced the title match. If Moxley retains the title, he will tie the record for the most title defenses of the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. On May 19, it was announced that the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match would be demoted to the Co-main event, with the 2024 Best of the Super Juniors, being place in the main event. On May 31, proposed a lumberjack match for the title match. He provoked Moxley saying that he has no friends to be at ringside, leading his protege Shota Umino to confront EVIL, before being attacked by House of Torture. On June 3, NJPW announced the match to be under lumberjack rules. Afterwards, Umino asked for NJPW veterans to come together and be the lumberjacks on Moxley's side.

Yuya Uemura, the Provisional 2024 KOPW Champion Yuya Uemura, who defended his title against Great-O-Khan
At Resurgence, HENARE in a video package, made his return from an head wound that had been sidelining him since February, challenging the winner of the match between Shingo Takagi and Yuya Uemura to a title match for the NEVER Openweight Championship. After Takagi successfully defended the title Uemura, he accepted HENARE's challenge. Both had previously feuded with each other in March 2023, after HENARE picked a series of surprising wins over Takagi, including in the first round of the 2023 New Japan Cup, leading to a title match for the Provisional KOPW 2023 Championship, which Takagi won in an Ultimate Triad match.
On May 4 at Wrestling Dontaku, Great-O-Khan stated that NJPW's biggest priority should be to take care of these local areas of Japan and bring in new viewers, as such the KOPW Regional Revitalization matches that he had for the KOPW Championship would be a prime example of that. Afterwards, he challenged Uemura to a rematch for the provisional KOPW Championship. The title match was announced on May 13. On May 31, Uemura and O-Khan proposed their stipulations for the match, with O-Khan proposing Rural Revitalization rules match and Uemura proposed a Storm Catch Rules match. Under this ruling, again, strikes would be prohibited in favour of throws, grappling and submissions. Under these rules, there would be a fifteen minute time limit, and rope breaks or leaving the ring would be limited to twice, after which a rope break would constitute a disqualification. On June 2, NJPW announced that Uemura’s stipulation defeated O-Khan’s Rural Revitalization rules match, with Uemura receiving 58.3% of the votes compared to O-Khan's 41.7%.

Guerrillas of Destiny (Hikuleo and El Phantasmo) who defended the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship in a four-way match, also for the IWGP Tag Team Championship
On May 7 at All Together, Tomohiro Ishii scored a direct pinfall victory over Jeff Cobb in tag team match. Afterwads, in a post-match interview, Ishii challenged Cobb to a title match the NJPW World Television Championship. Cobb accepted, but first he had to defend the title against Lance Archer at Resurgence, which he did. Following the match, Cobb was confronted by Ishii.
Also at Wrestling Dontaku, Bullet Club (KENTA and Chase Owens) defeated Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi) to regain the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Afterwards, Guerrillas of Destiny (Hikuleo and El Phantasmo) and TMDK (Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste) confronted the new champions with the four teams challenging them to a title match. At Resurgence, Guerrillas of Destiny defeated TMDK to regain the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship. Afterwards, Phantasmo declared the Guerrillas of Destiny as the strongest tag team in New Japan, while Haste stated that they were aiming to regain the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship and win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Two days later, NJPW announced a four-way match for the Strong Openweight and IWGP Tag Team Championships.
