On October 4, Pro Wrestling NOAH's Kenoh made a surprise appearance in Dragon Gate, who proclaimed that YAMATO was a old champion, claimed that he would add value to Dragon Gate, and since he was younger than YAMATO, he challenged him to a title match for the Open The Dream Gate Championship. Shun Skywalker, who faced Darkside Hulk at the event
In August, Shun Skywalker placed a mask Minorita and he appeared to be brainwashed as "Mini Skywalker", leading his Gold Class stablemate Kota Minoura to save him and remove the mask. With Skywalker claiming Minorita as his property, this led to a match at Dangerous Gate, on August 12, where the winner would get Minorita. Despite Gold Class winning the match, Minoura turned on Minorita to join Z-Brats. Their feud dragged out the following months, when on October 4, Gold Class was defeated by Z-Brats in a loser leave unit expulsion match, with BxB Hulk being pinned by Minoura, forcing him out of Gold Class. Following the match, Big Hug got caught in their feud with them and decided to join forces with Gold Class confronting Z-Brats, and challenging them to a match. On October 13, a combined team of Gold Class and Big Hug was defeated by Z-Brats, following a miscommunication between both teams. Afterwards, Skywalker demanded both stables to be disbanded, leading Dragon Gate's General Manager Ryo Saito to set up a three-way Loser Disbands match, between the three stables at Gate of Destiny. Shortly after, Skywalker began toying with the idea of facing Hulk, leading on October 20, Hulk appearing in his Darkside form, attacking Minoura, before facing him and ISHIN in a winning effort, later that night. Afterwards, Skywalker challenged Hulk to a match at Gate of Destiny, which he accepted. The following day, it was announced the following teams for the Losing Disbands match; Gold Class (Ben-K, Riiita, Mochizuki Jr.), Big Hug (Jacky Kamei, Hyo and Luís Mante) and Z-Brats (Kota Minoura, ISHIN and Jason Lee). Following the match, after Tanaka almost gave up on challenging for the title, his stablemate Dia unexpectedly nominated him to be his next challenger for the title, leading to a match at Gate of Destiny.
Also on October 20, Flamita pinned one-half of the reigning Open The Twin Gate Champions Dragon Kid in a six-man tag team match. Afterwards, Flamita and his Natural Vibes stablemate Kzy challenged Kid and his partner Naruki Doi to a title match at Gate of Destiny, which Doi accepted, setting up the match for the event.
