Gates of Agony (ゲイツ・オブ・アゴニー Geitsu obu Agonī) is a professional wrestling tag team consisting of American wrestlers, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona, where they are currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
They also work for AEW's sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH), where they are a former two-times ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions as part of the Mogul Embassy. Through a working relationship between AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), they also worked for the promotion, briefly as part of the House of Torture stable.
Initally formed in ROH in April 2022, Gates of Agony became a established tag team in AEW and ROH following their addition to the Mogul Embassy. They began working for NJPW in November 2023, where they would brifely join the House of Torture.
Early life[]
Kange attended the University of Minnesota before transferring to Luther College, where he majored in art and played football for the Luther Norse. After graduating, he worked in art and design before deciding to become a professional wrestler after moving to Baltimore. While Liona joined the San Diego State Aztecs football team in 2011 but was forced to quit football following a back injury.

Early career[]
Kaun was trained at the Maryland Championship Wrestling professional wrestling school, debuting in 2017. While Liona began wrestling on the independent circuit in Los Angeles and Las Vegas in 2020.
They were initially formed on April 1, 2022, at ROH's Supercard of Honor XV, after Tully Blanchard announced that Kaun and Liona would be part of his Tully Blanchard Enterprises stable, alongside and Brian Cage, with the trio of Kaun, Liona, and Cage being named the "Gates of Agony", while in July at Death Before Dishonor, Prince Nana announced he had purchased Tully Blanchard Enterprises and reformed The Embassy, with Cage, Kaun and Liona.
New Japan Pro Wrestling (2023)[]
On November 13, 2023, it was announced that Gates of Agony (Kaun and Liona), would make their New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) debut, by competing in the 2023 World Tag League, with the duo being announced to compete in the A-Block.
From November 20 to December 10, Kaun and Liona took part in the 2023 World Tag League. Despite the tournament campaign being disappointing to the House of Torture, the stable began expanding its ranks, when on November 29, EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi offered Kaun and Liona, which they accepted, becoming the newest members of the stable. However, this was revealed to be a hoax, as on December 1, Gates of Agony decided to leave the stable, in their head-to-head match with EVIL and Takahashi, which the later won.
Personal life[]
Kaun is of Cameroonian descent on his father's side while Liona is of Samoan and Puerto Rican descent.
