Historic X-Over II was a professional wrestling co-produced by New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and its subsidiary World Wonder Ring Stardom (Stardom). The show took place on November 17, 2024, in Osaka, Japan at the Edion Arena Osaka. This was the second show co-produced by both promotions owned by Bushiroad, NJPW and Stardom. This was the second event under the Historic X-Over name.

Background[]
Both promotions began holding the event in 2022, taking place at the newly built Ariake Arena on November 20, 2022, which was considered a success with over 7,000 fans attending the event. The show marked the first time NJPW and Stardom presented shows together, with both being owned by the same parent company Bushiroad, as opposed to holding separately. Both promotions also announced the creation of the IWGP Women's Championship, with the inaugural champion being crowned at the first Historic X-Over. On April 23, 2024, NJPW announced that they would acquire Stardom, thus making Stardom a subsidiary of NJPW. With the acquisition being completed in late June.
On October 10, 2023, NJPW and Stardom held a joint business strategy presentation, where both promotions announced the return for the event in 2024, with NJPW wrestler Shota Umino suggesting fan votes to decide the teams for the event. On June 9 at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall, NJPW announced that the event would held on November 17 in Osaka at the Edion Arena Osaka. On October 5, NJPW announced the first matches for the event.
In Puroresu, promotions typically keep their promotions gender specific, with promotions either promoting male or female wrestlers and not a mixed roster. As part of the Bushiroad umbrella, NJPW focuses only on promoting male talent, and Stardom focuses on female talent, due to being a Joshi promotion.
Storylines[]
Historic X-Over II will feature professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portray villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

Great-O-Khan, who defended the KOPW Championship against Stardom's Suzu Suzuki
On October 5, 2024 at Stardom's Nagoya Golden Fight, New Japan Pro Wrestling's Great-O-Khan made an appearance and layed an open challenge for his KOPW Championship to any female wrestler in Stardom at Historic X-Over II. On October 29, in a press conferece, O-Khan's opponent was revealed to be Stardom's Suzu Suzuki. O-Khan then invited Suzuki to bring any rule she wanted for their match, which Suzuki revealed to be a No Disqualification Hardcore match, due to her deathmatch background as part of the Prominence stable. O-Khan scoffed that Suzuki should bring assistance to the ring and proclaimed that he would not use a weapon against her. Offended by O-Khan’s attitude, Suzuki said she was ‘grossed out by him, especially his braid and beard, leading both agreeing that if O-Khan lost he would be forced to shave his hair and beard. At the end of the press conference, O-Khan slammed Suzuki’s head into the table after a photo session. This marked NJPW and Stardom's first Intergender title match.

Thekla, who teamed with NJPW's Clark Connors
The event wil also see a mixed tag team match between the team of Taichi and Natsupoi and Clark Connors and Thekla. Once friends and former stablemates in Donna Del Mondo, Thekla and Natsupoi developed a bitter rivalry following Natsupoi's addition to Cosmic Angels. On October 2, at Stardom Nigher in Kourakuen, after an elimination match between the Cosmic Angels and H.A.T.E; despite Thekla promising no interferences from her faction, she didn’t rule out help from others, Thekla distracted a weakened Natsupoi, leading NJPW's Bullet Club War Dogs' Clark Connors taking out Natsupoi with a viscious Spear, much to dismay of the audience, with the two leaving afterwards. The following day, Thekla unsucessfully challenged Natsupoi for the Wonder of Stardom Championship. With their issues unsolved, NJPW scheduled a match between them at Historic X-Over II.
On October 26, after STARS' Mayu Iwatani and Momo Kohgo won their 2024 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League league match against AZM and Miyu Amasaki, Iwatani was attacked by H.A.T.E's Momo Watanabe, before Watanabe asserted herself as the next challenger for Iwatani's IWGP Women's Championship. Three days later, in a press conference, Watanabe revealed that their title match would be one day prior to the tenth anniversary of her professional wrestling career and it was a matter of "perfect timing". For Watanabe defeating Iwatani would mean that she surpassed her, after feeling that she never did, following their encounter for Watanbe's first singles title match for High Speed Championship, or other two matches in the 5★Star GP or for the Wonder of Stardom Championship. Watanabe had recently faced Mercedes Moné in NJPW for the Strong Women's Championship on August 30 at Capital Collision, in a losing effort.
