History of Bullet Club

Bullet Club was originally formed in May 2013, when Irish wrestler Prince Devitt turned on his partner Ryusuke Taguchi and came together with American wrestler Karl Anderson and Tongan wrestlers Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga to form a villainous stable of foreigners, which they subsequently named "Bullet Club". Before the end of the year, the stable was also joined by three other Americans; The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and Doc Gallows. Wrestlers from the Mexican Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion have also worked tours of NJPW as members of Bullet Club. At the end of 2013, Bullet Club held both the IWGP Junior Heavyweight and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, while also having conquered three of NJPW's five annual tournaments. The stable marked a major turning point for the career of Devitt, a longtime fan favorite, who began his ascent out of the junior heavyweight division and into the IWGP Heavyweight Championship picture.

In April 2014, Devitt left NJPW and was replaced by American wrestler A.J. Styles. The following month, Bullet Club received its first Japanese member when Yujiro Takahashi joined and helped Styles capture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The following June, Bullet Club members of also won the IWGP Intercontinental and NEVER Openweight Championships, meaning that the stable had now held all titles NJPW had to offer. The stable continued adding members, most notably Canadian Kenny Omega, who took over its leadership in early 2016 when Styles, Anderson, and Gallows all left NJPW for WWE.

In January 2018, Omega and Cody entered a feud over the leadership of the stable, leading to the Civil War storyline. After Omega cemented his place as the leader in July, the Civil War storyline continued after Tonga and Tanga Loa turned on Omega, leading the stable being divided between Tonga's side the Bullet Club OG and Omega's side the Bullet Club Elite. The Elite would leave the stable in October, followed by Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi in December. Meanwhile, Jay White, who joined the stable during the storyline, took over the leadership of the stable, following the departure of Omega, with the stable being simply renamed to Bullet Club. The Elite were recognized as part of the stable, and were referred as Bullet Club Elite until January 4, 2019, with Owens and Takahashi quickly rejoining the stable, concluding the storyline.

In July 2020, the stable added EVIL, who filled in as leader due to travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, while White (along with other members unable to return to Japan) began establishing a U.S.-based branch. Despite the travel restrictions, the two branch structures remained in place as they expanded to the United States. In March 2023, after White left NJPW, he was replaced by David Finlay, who took over the stable's leadership. Since then, the stable has seen new members, Clark Connors, Alex Coughlin and British wrestlers, Gabe Kidd and Drilla Moloney. Following Coughlin's retirement, Jake Lee joined the stable, orginially as part of an interpromotional rivalry before fully joining them in July 2024, thus becoming the first Korean member of the stable. In February 2025, Finlay and EVIL entered a feud over the leadership of the stable, leading to the Second Civil War storyline, where War Dogs forced House of Torture out of Bullet Club in May.

During the stable's history, various sub-groups had operated within the Bullet Club banner, most recently Rouge Army, War Dogs and House of Torture. Former groups within the stable include, Bullet Club Latinoamerica an offshoot group created in CMLL in October 2013, The Elite, Guerrillas of Destiny and Firing Squad. However, in August 2024, most of the sub-groups of the stable were expelled from the stable, with the exception of War Dogs.

History

Formation (2013)

On February 3, 2013, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Prince Devitt pinned IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi in a tag team match, where he and Karl Anderson faced Tanahashi and Devitt's longtime Apollo 55 tag team partner Ryusuke Taguchi. This led to a match between Devitt and Tanahashi on March 3 at NJPW's 41st anniversary event. Though neither man's title was on the line in the match, Tanahashi vowed to relinquish the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in case Devitt was victorious. After defeating Devitt, Tanahashi went to help his opponent up, but was pushed away by the disappointed Junior Heavyweight Champion. The following weeks, Devitt began portraying a more cocky and villainous persona, regularly disrespecting both partners and opponents, with the exception of Ryusuke Taguchi, whom he tried to get to go along with his new attitude. However, this changed on April 7 at the Invasion Attack pay-per-view, when Devitt turned on Taguchi, after the two had failed to recapture the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship from the Time Splitters (Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA). During the attack, Devitt was helped by the returning King Fale, who attacked not only Taguchi but also Shelley, KUSHIDA, and Captain New Japan, whom Devitt then proceeded to unmask. Following the attack, Devitt took a microphone, introduced Fale as his new "bouncer", giving him the new name "The Underboss" Bad Luck Fale and dubbed himself the "Real Rock 'n' Rolla". At the following pay-per-view, Wrestling Dontaku 2013 on May 3, Devitt and Fale teamed up for the first time to defeat Taguchi and Captain New Japan in a tag team match. Later in the event, Devitt and Fale entered the ring to attack the now former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi, after he had defeated Karl Anderson in a singles match. Anderson first went to stop Devitt and Fale, but then turned on Tanahashi, hitting him with the Gun Stun. As the three men continued their attack on Tanahashi, they were also joined by Tama Tonga, with whom Anderson had formed a partnership during the past two weeks. In a post-match interview, the four men announced the formation of an all-gaijin stable named "Bullet Club".

Prince Devitt's leadership (2013–2014)

The four members of wrestled their first match together on May 22, when they defeated Captain New Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Manabu Nakanishi, and Ryusuke Taguchi in an eight-man tag team match. Two days later, Devitt entered 2013 Best of the Super Juniors tournament, where he won his block with a clean record of eight wins and zero losses, advancing to the knockout stage on June 9, where he first defeated Kenny Omega in the semifinals and then Alex Shelley in the finals to win the tournament, after which he proceeded to challenge Hiroshi Tanahashi. Devitt's old tag team partner Ryusuke Taguchi had originally earned a spot in the semifinals of the tournament, but a legitimate hip injury forced him to pull out. During the following day's press conference, Devitt also mentioned a move to the heavyweight division, aiming to become the first wrestler to hold the IWGP Junior Heavyweight and IWGP Heavyweight Championships simultaneously. On June 22 at Dominion 6.22, Devitt defeated Tanahashi, again the following interference from the rest of the Bullet Club, to earn his first-ever shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. The reigning champion, Kazuchika Okada, accepted Devitt's challenge for the title later in the event on the condition that he first defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against his CHAOS stablemate Gedo. Bullet Club's feud with Tanahashi continued at the July 5 Kizuna Road 2013 pay-per-view, where Tama Tonga and visiting Mexican wrestler Terrible lost the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) World Tag Team Championship to Tanahashi and Jushin Thunder Liger. Terrible worked also the rest of his two-week NJPW tour as a member of Bullet Club. After successfully defending his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Gedo, Devitt received his match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on July 20, but was defeated by Okada, despite interference from the rest of Bullet Club. From August 1 to 11, both Devitt and Anderson took part in the 2013 G1 Climax, wrestling in separate round-robin blocks. During the tournament, Devitt picked up big wins, through outside interference, over reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada and former champions Hiroshi Tanahashi, Satoshi Kojima, and Togi Makabe, but failed to advance from his block. Meanwhile, Anderson entered the final day with a chance to reach the finals, but a loss against Tetsuya Naito eliminated him from the tournament. On September 5, Rey Bucanero, another CMLL wrestler, started an NJPW tour working as a member of Bullet Club. On September 14, the rest of Bullet Club helped Bucanero and Tama Tonga defeat Hiroshi Tanahashi and Jushin Thunder Liger for the CMLL World Tag Team Championship. The rivalry between Devitt and Tanahashi culminated in a Lumberjack Deathmatch on September 29 at Destruction, where Tanahashi was victorious.

On October 11, Tonga and Bucanero returned to CMLL, where they formed "Bullet Club Latinoamerica" with CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Terrible and female wrestler and manager La Comandante. However, a week later, Tonga and Bucanero were stripped of the CMLL World Tag Team Championship, when they were unable to defend the title against La Máscara and Rush due to Bucanero being sidelined with an injury. On October 25, American tag team The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) made their NJPW debut as the newest members of by entering the 2013 Super Jr. Tag Tournament. In early November, The Young Bucks first defeated the Forever Hooligans (Alex Koslov and Rocky Romero) in the finals to win the tournament, and then Suzuki-gun (Taichi and Taka Michinoku) to become the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. On November 11, NJPW announced the participating teams in the 2013 World Tag League. In the tournament, Bullet Club would be represented by two teams in separate blocks; Devitt and Fale in block A and Anderson and the debuting American Doc Gallows in block B. On December 7, both teams entered the final day of the round-robin portion of the tournament with a chance to advance to the semifinals. Anderson and Gallows won their block with a record of four wins and two losses by defeating NWA World Tag Team Champions The IronGodz (Jax Dane and Rob Conway), while Devitt and Fale were eliminated with a record of three wins and three losses, after losing to Captain New Japan and Hiroshi Tanahashi, who had lost all their other matches in the tournament. The following day, Anderson and Gallows first defeated Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma in the semifinals and then Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Satoshi Kojima in the finals to win the tournament. This led to a match on January 4, 2014, at the Wrestle Kingdom 8 in Tokyo Dome, where they defeated K.E.S. (Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. During the same event, Devitt lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to Kota Ibushi, ending his fourteen-month reign. February's The New Beginning tour featured defending both of their tag team championships and the re-ignition of a rivalry between Devitt and his former partner Ryusuke Taguchi, who returned from an eight-month injury break. Devitt dominated his encounters with Taguchi for most of the tour, including pinning him in his return eight-man tag team match on February 2, but at the tour ending event, The New Beginning in Osaka, Taguchi pinned his former partner in a tag team match, where he teamed with Togi Makabe and Devitt with Fale. In March, Bad Luck Fale made it to the finals of the 2014 New Japan Cup, but was defeated there by Shinsuke Nakamura. As the one-year anniversary of the break-up of Apollo 55 approached, the rivalry between Devitt and Taguchi escalated, leading to Taguchi challenging his rival to a Loser Leaves Town match. The stipulation, however, was never made official for their April 6 Invasion Attack 2014 match. During the match, Devitt got into an argument with The Young Bucks, after the two repeatedly interfered in the match despite his orders not to do so. This led to The Young Bucks turning on Devitt, who responded by diving onto his stablemates. After Taguchi defeated Devitt, the two men shook hands, ending their rivalry with each other and Devitt's association with New Japan Pro Wrestling and the Bullet Club. Devitt's resignation from NJPW was announced the following day. It is made to believe that Devitt realized the error of his heel ways which is why he shook Taguchi's hand and why he walked away from Bullet Club. Devitt ended up walking away from NJPW because he was ashamed of the bad things he did with the stable he created.

AJ Styles' leadership (2014–2015)

Later at Invasion Attack 2014, American wrestler A.J. Styles debuted as the newest member of the Bullet Club, attacking IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. Styles, who knew Okada from their days working together for the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) promotion, claimed that Okada was still the same "young boy" (rookie) he had known in TNA and asserted himself as the next challenger for his title. Following Invasion Attack 2014, with Styles still working a full schedule on the American independent circuit and only booked to work NJPW's larger events, Anderson was positioned as the new leader of the stable. However, Styles was considered the leader of the Ring of Honor (ROH) version of the stable, a role which was also given to him by NJPW by the end of 2015. To sum it up, AJ Styles and Karl Anderson were leaders at the same time with Styles being the guy who carried the group to success and Anderson being the mouthpiece of the stable. On May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku 2014, Styles defeated Okada to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion, when Yujiro Takahashi turned on Okada and the Chaos stable and jumped to Bullet Club, becoming its first Japanese member. With capturing NJPW's top title, while also holding both of its tag team titles, and adding new members, this was billed as a "rebirth" for the stable, which was celebrating its one-year anniversary during the event. Also, Styles winning the IWGP Heavyweight Champion gave him the power to be the leader of the Bullet Club alongside Karl Anderson.

Later in the month, Bullet Club took part in NJPW's North American tour, produced in collaboration with ROH. On June 21 at Dominion 6.21, The Young Bucks' seven-month reign as the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions came to an end, when they were defeated by the Time Splitters in their sixth defense. Later that same event, Bad Luck Fale defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the new IWGP Intercontinental Champion. On June 29, Yujiro Takahashi brought another title over to the stable, when he defeated Tomohiro Ishii with help from his stablemates for the NEVER Openweight Championship. With the win, Bullet Club had won every title in NJPW, now simultaneously holding all four of its heavyweight titles.

From July 21 to August 8, five members of Bullet Club took part in the 2014 G1 Climax with Fale and Gallows wrestling in block A and Anderson, Styles and Takahashi in block B. All five failed to advance from their blocks with Fale finishing third and Gallows ninth in their block of eleven and Styles finishing second, Anderson third and Takahashi tied sixth in their block. Styles was eliminated due to losing to block winner Okada in their head-to-head match. On August 10, Global Force Wrestling (GFW) founder Jeff Jarrett joined the stable, attacking Hiroshi Tanahashi after he had defeated Styles in a non-title match. On September 21 at Destruction in Kobe, Fale lost the IWGP Intercontinental Championship back to Shinsuke Nakamura in his first defense. Bullet Club lost their two remaining singles titles on October 13 at King of Pro-Wrestling with Takahashi losing the NEVER Openweight Championship back to Tomohiro Ishii in his second title defense, while in the main event Styles lost the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Hiroshi Tanahashi in his third defense, after Jeff Jarrett's outside interference was stopped by the returning Yoshitatsu.

On November 8 at Power Struggle, Kenny Omega, who had joined NJPW at the beginning of the month, became the newest member of the stable, challenging Ryusuke Taguchi to a match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Omega had earlier dismissed the idea of joining Bullet Club as he did not consider himself a gaijin after six years of living in Japan, but now claimed he had lied and only wanted money and the title. Refusing to speak Japanese despite being fluent in the language, Omega dubbed himself "The Cleaner" with the idea of him being there to "clean up" the junior heavyweight division. From November 22 to December 5, three teams of Bullet Club took part in the 2014 World Tag League; Anderson and Gallows and Styles and Takahashi in block A and Fale and Tonga in block B. Anderson and Gallows won their block with a record of five wins and two losses, while Styles and Takahashi finished close behind with four wins and three losses. Styles and Takahashi were victorious over the reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions in the head-to-head match between the teams, but were left behind them in the final standings due to losing to Okada and Yoshi-Hashi on the final day. Meanwhile, Fale and Tonga finished at the bottom of their block with a record of three wins and four losses. On December 7, Anderson and Gallows were defeated in the finals of the tournament by Hirooki Goto and Katsuyori Shibata.

On January 4, 2015, at Wrestle Kingdom 9 in Tokyo Dome, Omega, in his first match as a member of Bullet Club, defeated Ryusuke Taguchi to become the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, while Anderson and Gallows lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship to Goto and Shibata, ending their year-long reign in their seventh defense. The following day, Cody Hall, the son of nWo founding member Scott Hall, joined as the stable's personal "young boy" with Anderson stating that he would have to earn his spot as a full-fledged member. Later that month, NJPW relaunched Bullet Club Latin America in time for the Fantastica Mania 2015 tour, co-produced by NJPW and CMLL. On January 18, during the fifth day of Fantastica Mania 2015, CMLL wrestler Mephisto joined, prior to successfully defending his Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship against Stuka Jr. On February 11 at The New Beginning in Osaka, The Young Bucks regained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship by defeating defending champions reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) and Time Splitters in a three-way match. Later that same event, Anderson and Gallows regained the IWGP Tag Team Championship from Goto and Shibata, while in the main event A.J. Styles defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to also bring the IWGP Heavyweight Championship back to the stable. Both of Bullet Club's tag team championship reigns ended in their first title defenses on April 5 at Invasion Attack 2015 with The Young Bucks being defeated by Roppongi Vice (Beretta and Rocky Romero) and Anderson and Gallows by the ROH tag team The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Michael Bennett).

The Young Bucks regained the title on May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku 2015 in a three-way match with Roppongi Vice and reDRagon. Also during the event, was involved in the first NJPW match to feature female wrestlers in over twelve years, where Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, and his wife Amber Gallows were defeated by Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven and Michael Bennett in a six-person intergender tag team match. On July 5 at Dominion 7.5 in Osaka-jo Hall, Kenny Omega lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to 2015 Best of the Super Juniors winner KUSHIDA in his fourth defense, while Anderson and Gallows defeated Bennett and Taven in a rematch to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship for the third time. In the main event, Styles lost the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Kazuchika Okada in his second defense. From July 20 to August 15, five members of Bullet Club took part in the 2015 G1 Climax with Fale, Gallows, and Styles in block A and Anderson and Takahashi in block B. Both Styles and Anderson entered their last round-robin matches with a chance to advance to the finals, but were eliminated after losing to Hiroshi Tanahashi and Satoshi Kojima, respectively. On August 16, The Young Bucks lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to reDRagon in their second defense. From September 4 to 6, Styles and The Young Bucks represented in American promotion Chikara's 2015 King of Trios tournament, where they made it to the finals, before losing to Team AAA (Aero Star, Drago, and Fénix). On September 23 at Destruction in Okayama, Omega defeated KUSHIDA, following outside interference from Anderson, to regain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. On October 23, Chase Owens became the newest member of the stable.

Kenny Omega's leadership (2016–2018)

On January 4, 2016, at Wrestle Kingdom 10 in Tokyo Dome, was involved in five championship matches. In the first, The Young Bucks defeated reDRagon, Roppongi Vice, and the team of Matt Sydal and Ricochet to regain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. In the following match, Fale, Takahashi, and Tonga were defeated by Toru Yano and the ROH tag team The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) in a match to determine the inaugural NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions. This was followed by two title matches, were Bullet Club lost two of their championships with Omega losing the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship back to KUSHIDA and Anderson and Gallows losing the IWGP Tag Team Championship to Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma. In Bullet Club's final title match of the event, Styles unsuccessfully challenged Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. Hours after the event it was reported that Anderson, Gallows, and Styles had all given their notice to NJPW and would be leaving the promotion for WWE. The following day, the rest of Bullet Club turned on Styles and kicked him out of the group with Omega taking over the leadership. Omega also announced his graduation from the junior heavyweight division, stating that he did not want a rematch with KUSHIDA, but instead a match with Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

In the aftermath of Omega taking over 's leadership, he and The Young Bucks formed their own subgroup within the stable, called "The Elite". Omega stated that he and The Young Bucks were The Elite, but accepted if NJPW continued calling them "in parentheses" as the stable was their "cash cow". He explained the name change by stating that following Anderson, Gallows, and Styles' departures from NJPW, "Bullet Club [wasn't] so much the anymore", adding that the stable "had all sorts of wrestlers come and go. Some were good, some were bad, some were god-awful", but that "there's a place you can go to watch the most ridiculous and entertaining stuff in pro wrestling, and it's The Elite". On February 11 at The New Beginning in Osaka, Fale, Takahashi, and Tonga defeated the Briscoes and Yano in a rematch to capture the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Later that same event, The Young Bucks lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to Matt Sydal and Ricochet in a three-way match, also involving reDRagon. Three days later at The New Beginning in Niigata, Fale, Takahashi, and Tonga lost the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship back to the Briscoes and Yano. Also during the event, Anderson and Gallows received a rematch for the IWGP Tag Team Championship, but were again defeated by Makabe and Honma, who were afterwards challenged by Tonga, who stated that his partner would be a new member of the stable. In the main event of the show, Omega defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, which had been vacated following Shinsuke Nakamura's departure from NJPW. On February 20 at Honor Rising: Japan 2016, Anderson and Gallows wrestled their final NJPW match, an eight-man tag team match, where they, along with Fale and Tonga, were defeated by Bobby Fish, Hirooki Goto, Katsuyori Shibata, and Kyle O'Reilly. Later that same event, Omega, and The Young Bucks defeated the Briscoes and Yano to bring the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship back to the stable, while also making Omega a double champion in the process.

On March 12, Tonga revealed that his partner for the upcoming IWGP Tag Team Championship match and the newest member of was his real-life brother Tevita Fifita, who was two days later given the ring name "Tanga Roa", with the tag team between him and Tonga dubbed "Guerrillas of Destiny" (GOD). On April 10 at Invasion Attack 2016, The Elite lost the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship to Hiroshi Tanahashi, Michael Elgin, and Yoshitatsu. Later that same event, Guerrillas of Destiny defeated Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. On May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku 2016, The Elite regained the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship from Tanahashi, Elgin, and Yoshitatsu. Five days later at the NJPW and ROH co-produced Global Wars show, Adam Cole was revealed as the newest member of as he helped the Guerrillas of Destiny and The Young Bucks take over the ring in a show-closing angle. The following day, during the first show on the War of the Worlds tour, Adam Page also joined. In NJPW, Page was given the ring name "Hangman Page". On June 19 at Dominion 6.19 in Osaka-jo Hall, The Young Bucks won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the fifth time by defeating Matt Sydal and Ricochet, reDRagon and Roppongi Vice in a four-way elimination match. Later that same event, Bullet Club lost two titles, with the Briscoe Brothers defeating the Guerrillas of Destiny for the IWGP Tag Team Championship and Michael Elgin defeating Kenny Omega for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship in NJPW's first ever ladder match. On July 3, Omega and The Young Bucks lost the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship to Matt Sydal, Ricochet, and Satoshi Kojima. From July 18 to August 13, three members of Bullet Club took part in the 2016 G1 Climax with Fale and Tonga in block A and Omega in block B. Fale finished his tournament with a record of five wins and four losses and Tonga with four wins and five losses, with Tonga winning the head-to-head match between the two. Meanwhile, Omega won his block with a record of six wins and three losses, advancing to the finals of the tournament. On August 14, Omega defeated Hirooki Goto in the finals to win the 2016 G1 Climax. On August 19 at Death Before Dishonor XIV, Adam Cole defeated Jay Lethal to bring the ROH World Championship to Bullet Club. On September 25 at Destruction in Kobe, Captain New Japan, part of the anti-stable Hunter Club, turned on Yoshitatsu and joined Bullet Club, becoming its second Japanese member. In a backstage interview, Omega welcomed Captain New Japan to Bullet Club, but called his character ridiculous and told him to come up with a new name and costume. The following day, NJPW announced that Bullet Club's newest member, "Bone Soldier", would be making his debut on October 8. On September 30 at ROH's All Star Extravaganza VIII, The Young Bucks won the ROH World Tag Team Championship for the second time by defeating former champions The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) and The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) in a three-way ladder match. On October 10 at King of Pro-Wrestling, the Guerrillas of Destiny regained the IWGP Tag Team Championship from the Briscoe Brothers. On December 2 at Final Battle, Adam Cole lost the ROH World Championship to Kyle O'Reilly. On December 10, Cody was revealed as the newest member of the stable. Later that same day, the Guerrillas of Destiny were defeated in the finals of the 2016 World Tag League by Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma. On January 4, 2017, at Wrestle Kingdom 11 in Tokyo Dome, The Young Bucks lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to Roppongi Vice. Later that same event, Adam Cole regained the ROH World Championship from Kyle O'Reilly, while the Guerrillas of Destiny lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship to Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano in a three-way match, also involving Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma. In the main event of the show, Kenny Omega unsuccessfully challenged Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. On February 11, Frankie Kazarian joined the stable, turning on longtime tag team partner Christopher Daniels at a taping of Ring of Honor Wrestling. On March 4, The Young Bucks lost the ROH World Tag Team Championship to The Hardys (Broken Matt and Brother Nero). On March 10 at ROH's 15th Anniversary Show, Kazarian turned on Adam Cole and Bullet Club, helping Christopher Daniels become the new ROH World Champion. The following day, Cole tried to fire The Young Bucks from Bullet Club, but the two responded by stating that Omega, not Cole, was the leader of the stable. Despite the dissension among members of the Superkliq, Cole remained a member of Bullet Club. On April 1 at Supercard of Honor XI, The Young Bucks regained the ROH World Tag Team Championship from The Hardys in a ladder match. On May 12, Omega fired Cole from Bullet Club and gave his spot in the stable to ROH World Television Champion Marty Scurll. Two days later, on the final night of the tour, Scurll lost the ROH World Television Championship to KUSHIDA, following a distraction from Cole.

In the months following Wrestle Kingdom 11, Omega looked for another shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, but his plan of obtaining one through the 2017 New Japan Cup was derailed, when he was eliminated in his first-round match by Tomohiro Ishii. After defeating Ishii in a rematch on May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku 2017, Omega was nominated by Kazuchika Okada for an IWGP Heavyweight Championship rematch at Dominion 6.11 in Osaka-jo Hall. On June 11 at Dominion 6.11 in Osaka-jo Hall, The Young Bucks defeated Roppongi Vice to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the sixth time. Later that same event, Guerrillas of Destiny defeated War Machine (Hanson and Raymond Rowe) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship for the third time. In the main event of the show, Omega and Okada wrestled to a 60-minute time limit draw for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. On June 23 at Best in the World, Cody defeated Christopher Daniels to bring the ROH World Championship back to Bullet Club. On July 1, during the first night of G1 Special in USA, Guerrillas of Destiny lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship back to War Machine in a no disqualification match. In the main event of the show, Cody unsuccessfully challenged Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Omega, playing off what had happened at Dominion, walked out, wanting to throw in the towel for Cody, which led to Cody confronting him after the show. The following day, Omega defeated Tomohiro Ishii in the finals of an eight-man tournament to become the inaugural IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. Later that month, three members of Bullet Club took part in the 2017 G1 Climax; Fale in block A and Omega and Tonga in block B. Omega won his block and advanced to the finals of the tournament with a record of seven wins and two losses by defeating IWGP Heavyweight Champion Okada in their third match against each other on August 12. Meanwhile, Fale finished third in his block with a record of six wins and three losses, and Tonga finished in the middle of his block with four wins and five losses. During the head-to-head match between Omega and Tonga, which was won by the former, tensions escalated between the two with Tonga questioning Omega's leadership of Bullet Club due to his association with The Elite. On August 13, The Young Bucks lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to Funky Future (Ricochet and Ryusuke Taguchi). Later that same day, Omega was defeated in the finals of the 2017 G1 Climax by Tetsuya Naito. On August 20, Page and The Young Bucks, forming another Bullet Club sub-group named "The Hung Bucks", defeated Dalton Castle and the Boys for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship, meaning that Bullet Club now held three of the four ROH titles. The stable later invoked "Bullet Club Rules", which allowed Cody, Omega, and Scurll to also defend the title. On September 6, it was announced that Tonga and Loa's youngest brother, NJPW young lion Leo Tonga, was joining Bullet Club, replacing Omega on an upcoming tour due to him having suffered a knee injury. On September 22 at Death Before Dishonor XV, The Young Bucks lost the ROH World Tag Team Championship to The Motor City Machine Guns. On November 5 at Power Struggle, Scurll defeated Will Ospreay to bring the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship back to Bullet Club. On November 11, Bullet Club received its first Australian member, when Fale inducted "Mr. Juicy" Gino Gambino into the group at a Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) event. On November 17, actor Stephen Amell, who had befriended Cody when they worked together in WWE, joined Bullet Club, wrestling his first match as a member at ROH's show later that same day. The following month, Guerrillas of Destiny made it to their second consecutive World Tag League final by winning their block in the 2017 tournament with a record of five wins and two losses. On December 11, they were defeated in the finals of the tournament by Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL and SANADA). Four days later at ROH's Final Battle, Cody lost the ROH World Championship to Dalton Castle. On December 17, Fale and Guerrillas of Destiny defeated BUSHI, EVIL and SANADA to become the new NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions.

First Civil War (2018)

On January 4, 2018, The Young Bucks defeated Roppongi 3K (Sho and Yoh) at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in Tokyo Dome to regain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. That same event, Fale and the Guerrillas of Destiny lost the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship Chaos' Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano in a five-team gauntlet match. Also during the event, Scurll lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship back to Will Ospreay in a four-way match, also involving Hiromu Takahashi and KUSHIDA. The following night, at New Year's Dash, Fale, and the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated Chaos' Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii, and Toru Yano to win back the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship, beginning 2018 with six members of Bullet Club holding three of eight championships in NJPW. At the same event, Cody attempted to attack Kota Ibushi, when Omega came down to make the save for Ibushi, this led to tensions between Omega and Cody over the leadership of Bullet Club. Later that night, Omega attempted to convince Jay White to join the stable, only for him to attack Omega and challenge him to a title match for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship. On January 28 at The New Beginning in Sapporo, The Young Bucks lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to Roppongi 3K (Sho and Yoh). In the main event, Omega lost the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship to Jay White. After the match, Page challenged White for a title match, but Omega stopped him and handed White his newly-won championship. More members of Bullet Club came to the ring, including Cody. Cody berated Omega for not letting Page have his moment to challenge White, leading to Omega inadvertently shoving down Matt Jackson. The remaining Bullet Club members decided to leave the ringside area to let Cody and Omega discuss their differences, but Cody instead turned on Omega and Page went to assist Cody to further attack Omega, until Kota Ibushi returned to the ring to save his former tag team partner. Omega and Ibushi then embraced in the ring, reuniting the Golden☆Lovers. Afterwards, Ibushi started teaming with members of Bullet Club, despite not being an official member. On February 24 at Honor Rising: Japan, the Golden☆Lovers made their tag team return defeating Cody and Marty Scurll. After the match, Omega claimed that Golden☆Lovers were "the best tag team in the world". This led, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) moving to the heavyweight tag team division and challenging the Golden☆Lovers to a match. On March 9 at ROH 16th Anniversary Show, Page and The Young Bucks lost the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship to Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky. During this time, Cody tried to split the Bullet Club by making Page and Scurll be on his side, while trying to manipulating The Young Bucks. On March 25, at Strong Style Evolved, the Golden☆Lovers defeated The Young Bucks. After the match, Omega offered a handshake to The Young Bucks, but Matt refused, Cody then went to the ring and shoved Nick Jackson to raise tensions even further. The Golden☆Lovers continued to feuding with Cody and Hangman Page, facing them at Sakura Genesis on April 1 in a losing effort. During the match, Cody offered a handshake to The Young Bucks, but they refused. On April 7 at ROH's Supercard of Honor XII, Omega faced Cody in a match. During the match, The Young Bucks attempted to help Omega. However, their plan backfired and The Young Bucks accidentally cost Omega the match. Afterwards, The Young Bucks tried to apologize to Omega, but Omega refused to listen. Despite this, there were no tensions between Omega and The Young Bucks.

On May 3 on the first night of Wrestling Dontaku, Fale and the Guerrillas of Destiny lost the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship to Scurll and The Young Bucks. The following day, on the second night of Wrestling Dontaku, Bullet Club made peace with each other posing with the stable's signature "Too Sweet" hand gesture, leaving just Omega and Cody fighting over the leadership, celebrating the stable's five-year anniversary. Later in the event, the mysterious "Bone Soldier", who had been teased for the past several months was revealed to be Taiji Ishimori, becoming the newest member of the stable, who then proceeded to attack IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay. At the end of the event, Omega was nominated by Kazuchika Okada as his next challenger for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Since the match between the two at Dominion 6.11 in Osaka-jo Hall ended in a time limit draw, the two agreed to a two-out-three falls match with no time-limit at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall. From May 18 to June 4, Ishimori and Scurll took part in 2018 Best of the Super Juniors, wrestling in separate round-robin blocks. In the opening match of the Best of the Super Juniors, Ishimori defeated IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay. Scurll finished his block with a record of four wins and three losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament, due to losing to Hiromu Takahashi in their head-to-head match. Meanwhile, Ishimori won his block with a record of five wins and two losses, advancing to the finals of the tournament. On June 4, Ishimori was defeated by Hiromu Takahashi in the finals of the Best of the Super Juniors. Five days later, at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall, The Young Bucks defeated Los Ingobernables de Japón (EVIL and SANADA) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. In the main event, Omega defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. After the match, Omega reunited with The Young Bucks, while also being confronted by Cody. The following day, Omega stated that he and The Young Bucks were still part of the stable, while also announcing that he would face Cody on July 7 at G1 Special in San Francisco.

On July 7 at G1 Special in San Francisco, Omega successfully defended the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Cody, ending their feud over the leadership. Following the match, Guerrillas of Destiny and Haku dubbed as "Firing Squad" attacked Omega and The Young Bucks. Page, Scurll, Owens, and Takahashi, come out to make the save but were unable to help. Tonga offered Cody to attack Omega, but he ended up attacking Tonga, leading the Firing Squad to attack Cody. Later Tonga revealed the reason behind the attack was due to division within the group. Afterwards, the stable was further divided between two groups the "Bullet Club Elite", led by Omega, who began to wrestle as face, and the "Bullet Club OG" (meaning "Bullet Club Original"), led by the Firing Squad, who represented the heel side of the stable and brought back old tactics that Bullet Club used such as excessive outside interference and ref bumps. This led to during the 2018 G1 Climax, Bullet Club OG being ejected from the arena by NJPW President Harold Meij on August 11, who had previously threatened to suspend them for three months and a fine. During the tournament, Fale joined Bullet Club OG, during his G1 Climax block match against Page, where Loa and Tonga interfered in the match, causing it to end in a disqualification. Despite not being an official member of Bullet Club, Kota Ibushi aligned himself with Bullet Club Elite. On August 12, Ishimori was introduced as the newest member of Bullet Club OG. Afterwards, Loa on behalf of Bullet Club OG challenged Scurll and The Young Bucks to a title match, which was made official by NJPW President Harold Meij who was at ringside. This led to Ishimori and the Guerrillas of Destiny defeating Scurll and The Young Bucks to win the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. On September 30 at Fighting Spirit Unleashed, the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated The Young Bucks to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Later that night, Cody defeated Juice Robinson to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

Jay White's leadership (2018–2020)

On October 8 at King of Pro-Wrestling, Bullet Club OG was joined by Gedo, Jado, and Jay White, who had turned on CHAOS leader Kazuchika Okada to join them. Later that day, Robbie Eagles was announced as the newest member of Bullet Club OG as part of the upcoming Super Jr. Tag League. Ishimori and Eagles finished the tournament with a record of three wins and four losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament. The Elite would leave Bullet Club in October, followed by Chase Owens, and Yujiro Takahashi, who officially left the stable in December. Members of The Elite were recognized as part of the Bullet Club and continued being called Bullet Club Elite until January 4, 2019, while Bullet Club OG was simply renamed to Bullet Club, ending the Civil War. This led to Jay White taking over the leadership of Bullet Club, becoming the stable's fifth leader, following the departure of Kenny Omega. In December, Bullet Club entered a rivalry with CHAOS and New Japan Seikigun ("regular army"), as part of White's feud with Okada, which led to Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi teaming for the first time. White dominated all of his encounters with the dream team of Okada and Tanahashi for all of the 2018 World Tag League tour. During the tour, the Guerrillas of Destiny reached for the second consecutive year the finals of the World Tag League, being defeated by Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL and SANADA) on December 9.

On January 4, at Wrestle Kingdom 13 in Tokyo Dome, the Guerrillas of Destiny lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship to EVIL and SANADA in a three-way match also involving The Young Bucks. Also during the event, Ishimori defeated KUSHIDA to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Later that night, White defeated Okada in their match. The following day at New Years Dash, Ishimori and the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated Togi Makabe, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Toru Yano to retain the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship, when Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi helped them retain the titles, rejoining the stable in the process. They lost titles to Taguchi, Makabe, and Yano in a rematch on January 30. On February 11 at The New Beginning in Osaka, White defeated Tanahashi to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. On February 23, at Honor Rising: Japan, Tonga, and Loa defeated EVIL and SANADA to win the IWGP Tag Team Champions for their fifth time. On April 6, at G1 Supercard, Ishimori lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion to Dragon Lee in a three-way match also involving Bandido. Later in the night, the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated EVIL and SANADA, Villain Enterprises (PCO and Brody King) and The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) in a "Winner takes all match" to retain the IWGP Tag Team and win the ROH World Tag Team Championships. In the main event, White lost the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Kazuchika Okada. On May 4 at Wrestling Dontaku, El Phantasmo was revealed as the newest member of Bullet Club, which had previously been teased in a pre-taped vignette. From May to June 3, Ishimori, Phantasmo, and Eagles took part in 2019 Best of the Super Juniors, Ishimori ended with a record of seven wins and four losses while Phantasmo and Eagles ended with a record of six wins and three losses. During the tournament, Phantasmo and Eagles started feuding with each other, during which, Phantasmo helped Eagles to defeat Will Ospreay in their block match, despite Eagles' refusal and also challenging with Ishimori for the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championship, despite Ishimori's being Eagles partner. On June 16 at Kizuna Road, Ishimori and Phantasmo defeated Roppongi 3K (Sho and Yoh) to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. On June 29 on the first night of the Southern Showdown, Eagles unsuccessfully challenged Will Ospreay for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Afterwards, Phantasmo entered the ring to show him support, leading Eagles to attack him and shake hands with Ospreay. The following day, Eagles who was tired of Bullet Club's actions defected from the stable and joined CHAOS, after he refusing to attack Will Ospreay.

From July 6 to August 11, Fale and White took part in the 2019 G1 Climax, wrestling in separate round-robin blocks. Fale failed to advance from his block, finishing tied third in his block of eleven. Meanwhile, White won his block with a record of six wins and three losses, advancing to the finals of the tournament. On August 12, Fale, Tonga, and Loa faced KENTA, Tomohiro Ishii, and Yoshi-Hashi in a match. During the match, KENTA turned on his partners and joined the stable. Later that night, White was defeated by Kota Ibushi in the finals of the 2019 G1 Climax. Later that month, Phastasmo and Ishimori took part in the 2019 Super J-Cup, with Phantasmo winning the tournament after defeating Dragon Lee in the finals on August 26. On August 31 at Royal Quest, KENTA defeated Tomohiro Ishii with help from Bullet Club to win the NEVER Openweight Championship. On September 22 at Destruction in Kobe, White defeated Tetsuya Naito to win the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. From October 16 until November 1, Ishimori and Phantasmo took part in the 2019 Super Jr. Tag League, finishing the tournament with a record of five wins and two losses, failing to advance to the finals due to losing to Sho and Yoh in their head-to-head match. From November 16 until December 8, two teams of Bullet Club took part in the 2019 World Tag League, Fale, and Owens; KENTA and Takahashi; the Guerrillas of Destiny. All three teams failed to win the tournament, with Guerrillas of Destiny entering the final day with a chance to win the tournament, but a loss against Tomohiro Ishii and Yoshi-Hashi cost them the chance to win the tournament.

On January 4, 2020, on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 14 in Tokyo Dome, the Guerrillas of Destiny lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship to David Finlay and Juice Robinson. Later that night, White lost the IWGP Intercontinental Championship back to Tetsuya Naito. The following day, on the second night of Wrestle Kingdom 14, Phantasmo and Ishimori lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship back to Sho and Yoh. Later in the event, KENTA lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to Hirooki Goto. On February 1 at The New Beginning in USA, Guerrillas of Destiny defeated David Finlay and Juice Robinson to regain the IWGP Tag Team Championship, before losing them to Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi on February 21.

Co-leadership between EVIL and Jay White (2020–2022)

In the following months, various Bullet Club members were absent of NJPW events, due to travel issues, relating to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, leading only Gedo, Jado, Ishimori, and Takahashi to represent Bullet Club in the 2020 New Japan Cup from June 16 until July 2. Gedo, Jado, and Takahashi were eliminated in the first round, while Ishimori was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Kazuchika Okada on July 2. On July 11, EVIL defeated Kazuchika Okada in the finals to win the 2020 New Japan Cup, in part due to an interference by Bullet Club, who attacked Okada, although EVIL appeared unaware of Bullet Club's involvement in the match. When Testsuya Naito came out to congratulate him on his win, EVIL attacked him, turning heel and being soon joined by the other members of Bullet Club, establishing himself as a member of the stable and the first member of Los Ingobernables de Japón to leave the stable. The following day, at Dominion in Osaka-jo Hall, EVIL defeated Naito to win the IWGP Intercontinental and IWGP Heavyweight Championships with help from his Bullet Club stablemates and Dick Togo, who joined Bullet Club and became EVIL's manager in the process. Afterwards, EVIL announced that he had taken over control of Bullet Club in Jay White's absence, with this EVIL became Bullet Club's first Japanese leader due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In August, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the Guerrillas of Destiny, KENTA, Owens, and White were unable to work on NJPW events in Japan, leading them to take part in the NJPW Strong series, in which some of them took part in the 2020 New Japan Cup USA, leading KENTA to defeat David Finlay on August 21 in the finals to win the tournament. Eight days later, at Summer Struggle in Jingu, Ishimori defeated Hiromu Takahashi to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Later that night, EVIL lost the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Championships back to Tetsuya Naito. From September 19 to October 17, four members of Bullet Club took part in the 2020 G1 Climax with Takahashi and White wrestling in block A and EVIL and KENTA in block B. All four failed to advance from their blocks with Takahashi finishing fifth and White tied second in their block of eleven and EVIL finishing tied and KENTA tied third in their block. On October 19, after Kota Ibushi won the 2020 G1 Climax, White challenged him to a match for his Tokyo Dome IWGP Heavyweight Championship challenge rights certificate. This led on November 7, at Power Struggle, White defeating Ibushi to win the Tokyo Dome IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Championships challenge rights certificate, becoming the first wrestler to win the certificate, despite not winning the G1 Climax. From November 15 until December 6, Ishimori took part in the 2020 Best of the Super Juniors, finishing the tournament with a record of seven wins and two losses, failling advance to the finals of the tournament, due to losing to El Desperado and Hiromu Takahashi in his head-to-head match. Meanwhile, three teams of Bullet Club took part in the 2020 World Tag League; EVIL and Takahashi, Fale and Owens, and Loa and Tonga. Fale and Owens, and EVIL and Takahashi failed to win the tournament, while Guerrillas of Destiny made it to their third consecutive World Tag League final, after finishing the tournament with a record of six wins and three losses. On December 11, the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated David Finlay and Juice Robinson in the finals to win the 2020 World Tag League. Two days later, Phantasmo took part in the 2020 Super J-Cup, reaching his second consecutive final, defeating ACH in the finals to win the tournament.

On January 4, 2021, on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 15 in Tokyo Dome, the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated Dangerous Tekkers (Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship for the seventh time. The following day, on the second night of Wrestle Kingdom 15, Ishimori lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to Hiromu Takahashi. In the main event, White unsucessfully challenged Ibushi for the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Championships. Afterwards, in a post-match interview, White, who was frustrated about his loss, stated that "maybe [his] time should be spent some place else", adding that he was leaving the promotion on January 6. Two days later, it was reported by Pro Wrestling Inisder, that there doubts within the promotion, whether White would extend his contract, which was rumored to expire at the end of the month, with WWE being interest in signing him. The following day, Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer Radio, that "this was probably a storyline", but he also noted that White refered that he had signed a "seven-year contract in 2018". On January 14, White's profile was removed from NJPW's website. Meanwhile, following Wrestle Kingdom 15, the Guerrillas of Destiny, and Phantasmo and Ishimori entered a rivalry with Suzuki-gun over both stables tag team championships. After working exclusively against each other in multi-man tag team matches for the last part of January. Phantasmo and Ishimori went on to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the second time, after defeating Suzuki-gun members El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru on January 23. On February 1, despite the rumors, White made his return to NJPW attaking Tomohiro Ishii. Phantasmo and Ishimori lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship back to Desperado and Kanemaru on February 25. On May 3 on the first night of Wrestling Dontaku, White defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the NEVER Openweight Championship, becoming NJPW's first quadruple crown champion, after also holding the IWGP United States, IWGP Intercontinental and IWGP Heavyweight Championships. On June 1, the Guerrillas of Destiny lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship back to Dangerous Tekkers. On June 23, Phantasmo and Ishimori defeated Sho and Yoh to win back the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the thrid time.

As part of NJPW's working relationship with Impact Wrestling, on July 17, White made his debut for the promotion at Slammiversary, confronting former Bullet Club members Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson and Kenny Omega. Afterwards, at backstage, White revealed that he had been recruiting new members to the stable, with Chris Bey seemingly refusing White’s invitation, despite reflecting on a later decision. Bey would continue to allign himself with White, before being accepted to the stable by him, after defeating Juice Robinson with White's interference, becoming Bullet Club's first African American member on August 8. Throughout the summer, El Phantasmo and Hikuleo began making frequent appearances for the promotion, establishing them as the American based branch of the stable due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19.

During this time, on July 25 at Wrestle Grand Slam in Tokyo Dome, Owens last eliminated Toru Yano in the New Japan Rambo with handcuffs, following the help from Bullet Club to win the provisional KOPW 2021 trophy. On August 14 at Resurgence, the Guerrillas of Destiny confronted former Bullet Club members Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, following the latter's return to NJPW. On September 4, at Wrestle Grand Slam in MetLife Dome, Sho, who had recently turned on his former partner Yoh, was intrduced by EVIL, Togo and Takahashi as the newest member of the stable. Later that night, Owens lost the KOPW 2021 trophy back to Toru Yano. The following day, Phantasmo and Ishimori lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship to El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru. From September 18 to October 20, five members of Bullet Club took part in the 2021 G1 Climax with KENTA, Loa and Takahashi wrestling in block A and Anderson, EVIL and Tonga in block B. All five failed to advance from their blocks with KENTA finishing tied third, Loa eight and Takahashi ninth in their block of ten and EVIL finishing third and Tonga tied sixth in their block. EVIL was eliminated due to losing to block winner Kazuchika Okada in their head-to-head match.

Later that month, in Impact Wrestling, Bullet Club began feuding with former Bullet Club members The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson), during a title match for the Impact World Tag Team Championship, between Bey and Hikuleo, David Finlay and Juice Robinson and The Good Brothers, after Anderson stole a pin on Bey that allowed for The Good Brothers to retain the titles. On the November 4 episode of Impact!, Bey, Hikuleo, and Phantasmo interfered in a title match between FinJuice and The Good Brothers, causing them match to end in a no contest. The following week on Impact!, Bey and Phantasmo won a number one contender's match, which was won by Bullet Club to the Impact World Tag Team Championship. On November 6 at Power Stuggle, EVIL, Sho and Takahashi defeated Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and Yoshi-Hashi to win the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Later that night, KENTA defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship and Tonga unsuccessfully challenged Okada for his Tokyo Dome IWGP World Heavyweight Championship challenge rights certificate contract. On November 13 at Battle in the Valley, White lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to Tomohiro Ishii. On November 20 at Impact's Turning Point, Bey and Hikuleo unsucessfully challenged The Good Brothers for the Impact World Tag Team Championship. From November 13 until December 11, Phatasmo, Ishimori and Sho took part in the 2021 Best of the Super Juniors. Phantasmo, Sho and Ishimori finished the tournament with a record of six wins and five losses, failling to advance to the finals. Meanwhile, three teams of Bullet Club took part in the 2021 World Tag League; EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi, the Guerrillas of Destiny, and Fale and Owens. EVIL and Takahashi managed to reach the finals with a record of eight wins and three losses, while the Guerrillas of Destiny finished close behind with seven wins and four losses and Fale and Owens with a record of six wins and five losses. On December 15, EVIL and Takahashi were defeated in the finals of the tournament by Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi. On January 4, 2022, on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 16, EVIL defeated Tomohiro Ishii, following the interference from Dick Togo to win the NEVER Openweight Championship. The following day, KENTA lost the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship to Hiroshi Tanahashi.

White's resumed leadership (2022–2023)

On the January 27 episode of Impact!, the Guerrillas of Destiny made their Impact Wrestling debut attacking Jake Something and Mike Bailey alongside Bey and White, before challenging The Good Brothers to a title match for the Impact World Tag Team Championship. Afterwards, Bullet Club began feuding with Violent By Design, after The Good Brothers seeked their assistance to deal with Bullet Club. The following week on Impact!, White, Bey, Tonga, and Loa were attacked by The Good Brothers and Violent By Design, builting up to two matches at No Surrender. At the event on February 19, White defeated Violent By Design's leader Eric Young. Later that night, The Good Brothers (Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson) successfully retained the Impact World Tag Team Championship against the Guerrillas of Destiny after they were betrayed by White. Subsequently, the Guerillas of Destiny were kicked out of Bullet Club and White reinstated The Good Brothers as members for the first time in nearly a decade. Afterwards, White sent a message to Gedo, to warn the rest of Bullet Club to chose between him or the Guerillas of Destiny. On March 13, Tonga returned to NJPW to face EVIL in the second round of the 2022 New Japan Cup. EVIL won the match, when the rest of the group turned on Tonga and Jado, kicking them out of the stable. On March 20 at Strong Style Evolved, White invited Tonga's brother Hikuelo to stay in the stable. Hikuleo proclaimed that he was still part of the stable, but did not want to be associated with White, leading him to a match between them at Mutiny. At Mutiny, White defeated Hikuleo.

On May 1 at Wrestling Dontaku, Fale and Owens won the IWGP Tag Team Championship by defeating United Empire (Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb) and Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi) in a three-way match. Later that night, EVIL lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to Tama Tonga. Afterwards, Ishimori defeated El Desperado to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. During that night, after Hiroshi Tanahashi won the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, a masked wrestler attacked him, before revealing himself to be Robinson, who became the newest member of Bullet Club. In the main event, White made his return to NJPW, attacking IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada after his match and laid him out with the Blade Runner and challenged Okada to a title match. This was billed as the fourth "incarnation" for the stable, which was celebrating its nine-year anniversary during the event. On May 14 at Capital Collision, Robinson won the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay in a four-way match. Later that month, three members of Bullet Club took part in the 2022 Best of the Super Juniors with Sho and Ishimori wrestling in block A and Phantasmo in block B. All three failed to advance from their blocks. Ishimori entered the final day with a chance to reach the finals, but a loss against Hiromu Takahashi eliminated him from the tournament. On June 3, during a six-man tag team match, between Fale, Owens and Phantasmo and United Empire's, Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan and Aaron Henare, Ace Austin interfered in the match, distrating Henare, before revealing himself as the stable's newest member, helping Bullet Club win the match. On June 11, Robinson was stripped of the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, after being unable to wrestle in a scheduled title defense at Dominion 6.12 in Osaka-jo Hall due to suffering from appendicitis. The following day, at Dominion, Fale and Owens lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship back to Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb. Later that night, Anderson defeated Tama Tonga to win the NEVER Openweight Championship. In the main event, White defeated Kazuchika Okada to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, becoming the third wrestler (alongside Okada and Kota Ibushi) to win both the IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP World Heavyweight Championships in separate occasions and the first wrestler to hold every heavyweight singles championship available in NJPW's history. On June 19 at Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary, Austin lost the Impact X Division Championship to Mike Bailey in an Ultimate X match. Later that night, The Good Brothers defeated The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) to win the Impact World Tag Team Championship for their third time. From July 16 to August 16, seven members of Bullet Club took part in the 2022 G1 Climax with Fale wrestling in block A, Owens and White in block B, EVIL and KENTA in block C and Takahashi and Robinson in block D. All seven failed to advance from their blocks with White entering the final day with a chance to reach the semifinals, but a loss against Tama Tonga eliminated him from the tournament. On September 23, EVIL, Sho and Takahashi defeated Hirooki Goto, Yoshi-Hashi and Yoh in a Tornado Dog Cage Survival match to regain the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Two days later, Hikuelo turned on White and decided to align himself with his brother Tama Tonga, leaving Bullet Club. On October 10, it was reported by Pro Wrestling Inisder, that Anderson and Gallows were believed to be heading back to WWE, which was confirmed later that day, following their appearance on the episode of WWE Raw. From November 22 until December 14, two teams of Bullet Club took part in the 2022 World Tag League, with Fale and Owens and EVIL and Takahashi competing in the tournament. Both teams failed to advance to the finals, after finishing the tournament with record of two and eight losses and four wins and six losses, respectively. Meanwhile, Austin and Bey took part in the 2022 Super Jr. Tag League, finishing the tournament with a record seven wins and two losses, advancing to the finals of the tournament. On December 14, Austin and Bey were defeated by Lio Rush and Yoh in the finals.

David Finlay's leadership and growing expansion (2023–2025)

On January 4, 2023, at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Tokyo Dome, Anderson lost the NEVER Openweight Championship back to Tama Tonga. Later that night, Ishimori lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to Hiromu Takahashi in a four-way match also involving El Desperado and Master Wato. In the main event, White lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship to Kazuchika Okada. In a post-match press conference, White accepted his loss, although he blamed it on former Bullet club stablemate Hikuleo, who had attacked White and left the stable in September. This led to White challenging Hikuleo to a "Loser Leaves Japan Match", which took place on February 11 at The New Beginning in Osaka, where White was defeated by Hikuleo, forcing him to leave Japan. After being scheduled to face Eddie Kingston at the Battle in the Valley on February 18, the two had heated exchange between the two on Wrestling Observer Live, where it was agreed to a Loser Leaves New Japan match, where if White won Kingston would not be allowed to wrestle for NJPW again without White's permission, where if Kingston won White would be forced to leave NJPW. At Battle In The Valley, White was defeated by Kingston, thus forcing him to leave NJPW. Afterwards, he was attacked by David Finlay, on his final appearance for the promotion. On February 18 at Battle in the Valley, KENTA defeated Fred Rosser with help from Robinson to win the Strong Openweight Championship

On March 5, after defeating Tomohiro Ishii in the first round of the 2023 New Japan Cup, Finlay was introduced by White's former manager Gedo as the newest member of Bullet Club, becoming the stable's seventh leader, after the departure of White. After the match, Gedo stated that "Bullet Club needed a rebel" and it did not matter that White was no longer there. Finlay ended up making it all the way to the finals of the tournament, before losing to SANADA on March 21. During this time, Phantasmo began questioning Finlay's authority, which in turn, led to him being kicked out of the stable on April 8 at Sakura Genesis, after Finlay, KENTA and Ishimori turned on him. Soon after, Finlay teased a new member as a replacement Phantasmo's place, with Finlay further revealing it at Capital Collision on April 15. At Capitol Collision, Clark Connors, along with The DKC, Rocky Romero, Lio Rush and Chuck Taylor faced KUSHIDA, Volador Jr., Mike Bailey, Gabriel Kidd and Kevin Knight in a losing effort. After the match, a frustrated Connors turned on his team by viciously attacking The DKC. Soon after, after Finlay defeated AR Fox, Finlay called Connors and offered a spot in the Bullet Club, with Connors accepting and leaving with Finlay, revealing himself to be the replacement of El Phantasmo. At the next day, at Collision in Philadelphia, accompanied by Finlay, Connors defeated The DKC. On May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku, KENTA lost the Strong Openweight Championship to Hikuleo. Later that night, Finlay defeated Tama Tonga to win the NEVER Openweight Championship. After the match, Phantasmo made his first appearance since being expelled from the stable, attacked Finlay and challenged him to a title match on June 4 at Dominion 6.4 in Osaka-jo Hall. Later that month, three members of Bullet Club took part in the 2023 Best of the Super Juniors with Sho and Ishimori wrestling in block A and Connors in block B. All three failed to advance from their blocks, with Ishimori forfeiting the rest of his matches due to sustaining a cervical vertebra injury during his match against Hiromu Takahashi on May 21.

On June 4, at Dominion, after TJP and Francesco Akira regained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, Connors confronted the new champions, teasing he and a partner would challenge them to a title match. Afterwards, Dan Moloney was revealed to be his partner after turning on them to join the stable. Also in that night, after Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi won the IWGP Tag Team and Strong Openweight Tag Team Championships, Alex Coughlin and Gabriel Kidd made their return to NJPW, dubbed as the "Bullet Club War Dogs", attacking Goto and Yoshi-Hashi, before challenging them to a title match. Later that night, Finlay (accompained by Connors, Moloney, Kidd, Coughlin and Gedo) successfully defended the NEVER Openweight Championship against El Phantasmo, after the stable's constant interference throughout the match. Afterwards, in a post-match interview, Finlay along with the rest of the stable, formed a sub-stable named "War Dogs", with Finlay further stating that in his leadership members could only bring "gold or bodies". In the aftermath of Finlay taking over Bullet Club's leadership, he claimed "War Dogs was Bullet Club, anything else was phony". On July 4 at NJPW Strong Independence Day, Kidd and Coughlin defeated Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi to win the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship. Later that night, Connors and Moloney defeated Francesco Akira and TJP to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. The folowing day, Kidd and Coughlin unsucessfully challenged Goto and Yoshi-Hashi for the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Later that night, KENTA lost the Strong Openweight Championship to Eddie Kingston. From July 15 to August 9, six members of Bullet Club took part in the 2023 G1 Climax with Owens and Kidd in block A, KENTA in block B, EVIL and Finlay in block C and Coughlin in block D. Owens, Kidd, KENTA and Coughlin finished second bottom of their respective blocks. Meanwhile, despite Finlay being victorious over EVIL in the head-to-head match, both managed to advance to the quarter-finals in the final standings. In the quarterfinals, on August 10, Finlay was eliminated from the tournament by Will Ospreay. Meanwhile, EVIL defeated reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinals, on August 12, EVIL was eliminated from the tournament by Kazuchika Okada. Following the tournament, on August 12, Finlay and the Bullet Club War Dogs (Coughlin and Kidd) confronted Tama Tonga, Hikuleo and El Phantasmo, with Phantasmo and Hikuleo, who newly reunited after being expelled from Bullet Club, setting their sights on Coughlin and Kidd's Strong Openweight Tag Team Championships, setting up two title matches at Destruction between both sides. On September 24 at Destruction in Kobe, Sho defeated Taichi in a seconds handcuffed match to become the new provisional KOPW Champion, when Yoshinobu Kanemaru turned on Taichi and the Just 5 Guys stable and jumped to Bullet Club. On October 9 at Destruction in Ryogoku, Coughlin and Kidd lost the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship to El Phantasmo and Hikuleo. Later that night, Finlay lost the NEVER Openweight Championship back to Tama Tonga. From October 21 to November 2, two teams of Bullet Club took part in the 2023 Super Jr. Tag League, with Connors and Moloney and Sho and Kanemaru competing in the tournament. Connors and Moloney finished the tournament with a record five wins and four losses. Meanwhile, Sho and Kanemaru finished the tournament with a record six wins and three losses, advancing to the finals.

On January 4, 2024 at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Connors and Moloney lost the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship back to Francesco Akira and TJP. Later that night, Finlay defeated Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay in a three-way match to become the first IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion. The following day, at New Year Dash, Bullet Club War Dogs faced United Empire in a no contest. Afterwards, Bullet Club War Dogs were challenged by Ospreay, who would make his last match in NJPW on February 11, with David Finlay choosing the stipulation. Finlay accepted the challenge and decided the match would be contested steel cage match. Also at the event, Ishimori became the first Provisional 2024 KOPW Champion after defeating Great-O-Khan, Toru Yano and Yoh in a four-way match. On January 22 at The New Beginning in Nagoya, Ishimori lost the provisional 2024 KOPW Championship to Great-O-Khan in a 10 Minute Ishimori Ring Fit match. Later that night, EVIL defeated Tama Tonga in a Lumberjack Deathmatch to win the NEVER Openweight Championship. On February 4, Bullet War Dogs faced United Empire in a series of matches, culminating on Connors and Moloney defeating TJP and Francesco Akira to regain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. On February 11 at The New Beginning in Osaka, KENTA and Owens defeated Guerrillas of Destiny (El Phantasmo and Hikuleo) to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Later that night, War Dogs defeated United Empire in a Dog Pound Cage match, ending their feud with United Empire. On February 23 at The New Beginning in Sapporo, Sho defeated Desperado to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Later that night, Finlay lost the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship to Nic Nemeth. On March 24, Coughlin announced his retirement from professional wrestling following a serious neck injury, after Finlay had previously admitted that the Dog Pound match had "claimed" one of his War Dogs, leaving Bullet Club in the process. On April 6 at Sakura Genesis, KENTA and Owens lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship to Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi.

Later that month, Bullet Club Ward Dogs began a feud with Los Ingobernables de Japón (L.I.J.). On April 22, Pro Wrestling Noah's Jake Lee made a surprise debut for NJPW by interfering and helping Moloney defeat Tetsuya Naito, as part of a match series between Bullet Club War Dogs and Los Ingobernables de Japón (L.I.J.). Afterwards, Finlay, announced that Lee would team with Bullet Club War Dogs against Naito's L.I.J in a five-on-five tag team elimination match on April 27, which they lost. On May 4 at Wrestling Dontaku, KENTA and Owens defeated Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi to regain the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Later that night, Finlay defeated Nic Nemeth to regain the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. Two days later, at All Together, Kidd attacked Kaito Kiyomiya and challenged him to a title match for Pro Wrestling Noah's top title the GHC Heavyweight Championship, before proceeding to steal the title belt. On May 11 at Resurgence, Kidd defeated Eddie Kingston in a No Ropes Last Man Standing match to win the Strong Openweight Championship. Later that month, five members of Bullet Club took part in the 2024 Best of the Super Juniors with Connors and Kanemaru wrestling in block A and Ishimori, Sho and Moloney in block B. Connors, Kanemaru, Sho and Moloney all failed to advance from their blocks, with the exception of Ishimori, who advance to the semifinals of the tournament with a record of seven wins and two losses. On June 3, in the semi-finals, Ishimori defeated TJP to reach the finals of the tournament. On June 9 at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall, KENTA and Owens lost the IWGP Tag Team Championship to TMDK (Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste) in a four-way tornado tag team elimination Winners Take All match for both the IWGP Tag Team Championship and Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship. Later that night, Ishimori was defeated in the finals of the 2024 Best of the Super Juniors by El Desperado. On July 13 at Pro Wrestling NOAH's Destination, Gedo came to the ring in the name of Finlay, offering Jake Lee to join the stable, who was quick to accept, before Gedo announced Lee's departure from Pro Wrestling NOAH. From July 20 and August 14, five members of Bullet Club took part in the 2024 G1 Climax, with only Finlay managing to win his group and advancing to the semifinals of the tournament, where he was defeated by Yota Tsuji on August 17.

Second Civil War (2024-2025)

During the course of the tournament, the relationship between House of Torture and Bullet Club War Dogs started to detriorate, leading to various conflicts between both sub-group's members in their head-to-head match in the 2024 G1 Climax. This led to Finlay, who had previously disavowed the other sub-groups within Bullet Club in the past, expelling House of Torture from Bullet Club on September 26, alongside TNA's version of the stable, only KENTA, Owens, Ishimori and Fale and his own subgroup Rogue Army were the exception of his decision. According to Finlay, “[Bullet Club] lost sight of what Bullet Club was designed to do", and "became obsessed with selling t-shirts". That isn’t [Bullet Club's] intent. Bullet Club was here to disrupt and destroy.” Finlay's leadership was perceived by many of his critics as the revival of Bullet Club. On October 20 at Royal Quest IV, Robbie X was revealed as the stable's newest member. On November 4 at Power Struggle, SANADA turned on Just 5 Guys and jumped to Bullet Club War Dogs by helping Finlay defeat Taichi to retain the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. On January 4, 2025 at Wrestle Kingdom 19 in Tokyo Dome, Finlay lost the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship to Yota Tsuji.

On February 11, at The New Beginning in Osaka, EVIL and Dick Togo, who had previously suggested their potential departure from NJPW, entered the ring and initially implied that they were severing ties with the House of Torture. However, this was revealed to be a deceptive tactic, subsequently, the House of Torture turned against Gabe Kidd, attacking him. Following these events, EVIL declared that War Dogs would no longer be associated with the Bullet Club, leading to a feud between both sides. During the 2025 New Japan Cup, SANADA was torn between both sides, leading War Dogs to question his loyalty, until he attacked Yuya Uemura following his match against Finlay in the tournament. Finlay eventually won the New Japan Cup, defeating Shota Umino in the finals on March 20, to earn a title match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. War Dogs feud with House of Torture culminated to a Dog Pound match, on May 3 at Wrestling Dontaku, where the losers must leave Bullet Club. At the event, they defeated House of Torture in the Dog Pound match, forcing them out of Bullet Club.
