Hokuto Omori (大森北斗, Ōmori Hokuto), born June 28, 1995, is a Japanese professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist trained and currently signed to All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where he is a former two-time AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team Champion, a former All Asia Tag Team Champion and the winner of the 2021 Jr. Tag Battle of Glory and 2023 World's Strongest Tag Determination League.

Omori was trained by the All Japan Pro Wrestling Dojo and made his debut in November 2018, achieving largely a mid-card status. In July 2019, Omori turned heel and joined the Enfants Terribles. Despite that, Omori did not achieve many success until the formation of Total Eclipse, in which led to the turning point of his career by in the scope of one-year, with Omori winning the AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team and All Asia Tag Team Championships and the 2021 Junior Tag Battle of Glory. He moved to the heavyweight division in May 2023.

Early life[]

Prior to joining the school, he played baseball, volleyball, and mixed martial arts. He was a member of Kenichi Yamamoto's mixed martial arts gym, Power of Dreams, where he served as captain.

Professional Wrestling Career[]

In 2018, Omori earned a training spot in the All Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) dojo, after the passing an introductory test. He entered the dojo in May 2018. Omori made his debut in his hometown in Sapporo on November 17 of the same year against Yusuke Okada in a losing effort. Omori debuted in grey tights because, according to Omori, "no one else would use it". On April 6, 2020, he changed he costume to black tights. In July 2019, Omori took part into the 2019 Junior Tag Battle of Glory, after it was announced that on June 4, Atsushi Aoki died in a motorcycle accident leaving Hikaru Sato without a partner for the tournament. Aoki's Evolution stablemate Yusuke Okada took his place in the tournament leaving Francesco Akira without a partner, which was later revealed to be Omori, after being selected by then-AJPW President Jun Akiyama. They finished with a record of three draws and two losses. In November of the same year, to commemorate the first anniversary of his debut, AJPW held the "Hokuto Omori Hokkaido Three Match Trial", which he lost all three matches against other veterans such as Takao Omori, Koji Iwamoto and Yoshitatsu.

On June 14, 2020, Omori was handpicked by then-World Junior Heavyweight Champion Susumu Yokosuka for his fifth defense due to him having "pure royal genes". However, due to the insistence of Yosuke♡Santa Maria, the match was made a three-way match instead, with Omori being unsuccessfull in his attempt to win the title. Between June 30 and July 13, Omori took part in the 5th Asunaro Cup, where Omori won all of his matches, only to lose into the finals to the eventual winner Dan Tamura. After the match, a bitter Omori turned heel and joined Enfants Terribles, which he was accepted by the stable's leader Shotaro Ashino. Afterwards, Omori began having a more arrogant, cocky and agressive attitude, with him also throwing kisses to tease the audience. After Shotaro Ashino unsuccessfully challenged Suwama for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, Ashino began a leadership dispute with Omori, who questioned his status, due to his shortcomings and his lack of leadership. On February 23, 2021, Ashino was kicked out of Enfants Terribles and replaced by Jake Lee, who had recently disbanded Jin to join the stable, leading to a feud with Evolution, following Ashino's addition to the stable by Suwama. This was followed by TAJIRI's addition to the stable on March 8, with the stable being renamed to "Total Eclipse". On June 26, Omori, TAJIRI and Yusuke Kodama defeated Takao Omori, Black Menso ~ Re and Carbell Ito to win the AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team Championship. They lost the titles to Yoshitatsu, Seigo Tachibana, and Carbell Ito on July 22. On December 26, Omori and Kodama won the 2021 Jr. Tag Battle of Glory, after defeating Hikaru Sato and Dan Tamura in the finals. This granted them a title shot for the All Asia Tag Team Championship, where they defeated T-Hawk and El Lindaman on January 2, 2022 to become the new champions. They lost titles to Minoru and Toshizo on July 14. From November to December, Omori took part of the 2022 Jr. Battle of Glory, finishing in last place with a record of five losses, failling to advance to the finals.

On January 2, 2023, Omori announced that he would be moving to the heavyweight division. In his first match as a heavyweight, on January 11, Omori teamed with Minoru Suzuki in a winning effort against Ryuki Honda and Yusuke Kodama. From April 8 and May 7, Omori took part in the 2023 Champion Carnival, finishing the tournament with a record of three wins and four losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament. On July 2, after Yuma Aoyagi won the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, Omori challenged him to a title match. Omori and Minoru Suzuki had previously challenged Aoyagi and Kento Miyahara to a title match for the World Tag Team Championship. On July 22, Omori unsucessfully challenged Aoyagi for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, The following day, Omori and Suzuki unsucessfully challenged Aoyagi and Kento Miyahara for the World Tag Team Championship.

On November 5, Omori asked Katsuhiko Nakajima to team with him for the upcoming World's Strongest Tag Determination League, but Nakajima said that he was not interested. However, Omori kept asking Nakajima to be his partner, despite Nakajima's refusal, leading AJPW to force them team up for the tournament. After not being pleased by Omori, Nakajima started training him, which proved to be effective, even though he suffered a couple setbacks, in the end he managed to secure the win over a former Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Yuma Aoyagi, and as a result they won the World's Strongest Tag Determination League. Afterwards, Omori proclaimed announced their intentions to challenge for the World Tag Team Championship. On January 14, 2024, Omori and Nakajima unsuccessfully challenged The Saito Brothers (Jun and Rei Saito) for the World Tag Team Championship.

Two days later, AJPW announced that Omori had violated compliance rules at a drinking party and would be subject to a 30% pay cut and a drinking ban for three months until March 31. From April 18 and May 4, Omori took part in the 2024 Champion Carnival, finishing the tournament with a record of two wins and five losses, failing to advance to finals of the tournament. On June 24, Omori formed his own stable named "Hokuto-gun" alongside Kuma Arashi, Hartley Jackson and Cyrus, who was revealed to be their final member. In their first official match, they faced Kento Miyahara, Suwama, Shotaro Ashino and Ryo Inoue in a winning effort. On October 23, at a Evolution Joshi event, Omori, Arashi and Cyrus defeated Chihiro Hashimoto, Shuji Ishikawa and Yuu to win the AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team Championship. They lost the titles to Yuma Aoyagi, Fuminori Abe and Hikaru Sato.

Personal life[]

Omori is a big fan of Japanese boyband L'Arc-en-Ciel.

On February 22, 2020, he created a YouTube channel named "No-Taps" with fellow rookies Atsuki Aoyagi and Dan Tamura, where he calls himself "German" in his videos, based on his own finishing move the German Suplex.
