Jin began adding new members since its formation, most notably 2AW's Ayato Yoshida and Pro Wrestling BASARA's Fuminori Abe. Other accomplishments attained by the stable include Lee and Iwamoto being the All Asia Tag Team Champions.
In April 2018, Jake Lee returned to All Japan Pro Wrestling, announcing that he was leaving Nextream. Following his return, Lee formed his own stable named Sweeper alongside Dylan James, Keiichi Sato, Koji Iwamoto and Ryoji Sai. Shortly after, Sweeper was joined by Naoya Nomura, who also left Nextream to join Sweeper.
In December 2019, following the 2019 World's Strongest Tag Determination League, Lee and Nomura decided to disband to disband Sweeper, after feeling a lack of unity within the stable due to Sai teaming with Zeus in the tournament. On December 21, Lee, Nomura and Iwamoto announced the formation of a new stable called "Jin", literally translated to "Team". On January 18, Lee, Iwamoto and Fuminore Abe faced Evolution (Hikaru Sato, Suwama and Yusuke Okada in a winning effort. Afterwards, Lee and Iwamoto offered Abe a spot in Jin. Abe immediately accepted the offer, thus becoming the stable's fourth member. Meanwhile, Nomura had began a short feud with his "generational rival" Ayato Yoshida, leading on the following day, Nomura facing Yoshida faced each other in a match, which ended in a draw. Afterwards, Nomura impressed by Yoshida offered him a spot in Jin. Yoshida immediately accepted the offer, thus becoming the stable's fifth member. On March 23, Lee and Iwamoto lost the All Asia Tag Team Chmapionship to Yankii Nichokenju (Isami Kodaka and Yuko Miyamoto).
