Ryo Inoue (井上凌 Inoue Ryo, born August 18, 2002) is a Japanese professional wrestler who works currently for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW).
Professional wrestling career[]
All Japan Pro Wrestling (2022-present)[]
Inoue, an esteemed amateur wrestler for three years in high school passed the All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) dojo entry test in December 2020, alongside future AJPW wrestlers Jun and Rei Sato. making his debut on January 2, 2022, facing Dan Tamura in a losing effort, before taking part in the January 2 Korakuen Hall Junior Heavyweight Battle Royal later that night. As is customary for most professional wrestlers, Inamura spent most of his matches losing to other, more experienced wrestlers, which would help put over other wrestlers while at the same time give Inamura some in-ring, televised, experience. On August 14, Inoue and Takao Omori unsucessfully challenged Voodoo Murders (Minoru and Toshizo) for the All Asia Tag Team Championship. From November to December, Inoue took part of the 2022 Jr. Battle of Glory, finishing the tournament with a record of one win and four losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament.
On February 4, 2023, Inoue, Yuma Anzai, Shuji Ishikawa, alongside former Nextream members Rising HAYATO, Yuma Aoyagi, Kento Miyahara, and Atsuki Aoyagi formed a stable dubbed "Zennichi Shin Jidai" (New Age of All Japan in English), as a reaction against the influence of wrestlers from other promotions, who appeared or held titles in AJPW making them an anti-invader stable. In April, Inoue and Oji Shiiba took part in the 2023 Jr. Tag Battle of Glory, finishing the tournament with a record of one win and four losses, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament. On July 2, after El Lindaman won the World Junior Heavyweight Championship from Atsuki Aoyagi, Inoue challenged him to a title match, after taking offense to Lindaman being careless with the title belt. On July 23, Inoue unsucessfully challenged Lindaman for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship. From November 12 and December 6, Inoue took part of the 2023 Jr. Battle of Glory, finishing the tourmanent with a record of two wins, four losses and a draw, failing to advance to the finals of the tournament.
Inoue started the new year, winning the Junior Heavyweight Battle Royal held at Korakuen Hall on January 2, 2024. On February 20, Inoue unsucessfully challenged Seigo Tachibana for the Gaora TV Championship. On April 29, during the 2024 Champion Carnival tour Inoue suffured an injury to his left MCL, leaving him sidelined for several months. He made his return from injury on June 24.
