Honjo began training with [[New Japan Pro Wrestling]] (NJPW) in 2015, and made his in-ring debut on February 25, 2016, losing to [[Pro Wrestling NOAH]] veteran [[Maybach Taniguchi]]. Honjo made his televised debut on March 8, 2016, losing to [[Captain New Japan]]. Honjo once again would lose to fellow rookie [[David Finlay]] on March 10. After that would later feud with fellow rookie [[Hirai Kawato]] which was always on the low card with tying two matches. Months after his second match against Kawato he retired from professional wrestling.
