The Gate of Origin (2020) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event and GAORA TV event promoted by Dragon Gate (DG). The event took place on November 28, 2020, in Sendai at the Sendai Sun Plaza Hall. Previously held under the Memorial Gate in Sendai name, this marks the third show under The Gate of Origin name. The event aired on GAORA and Dragon Gate Network streaming service.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event had some restrictions in the attendance, after the Japanese Government lifted the State of Emergency.

The Gate of Origin (2020) aired in Japan through Dragon Gate's internet streaming site, Niconico, with Japanese language commentaries. The Japanese commentary will be provided by Katsuya Ichikawa. The event also aired on tape delay on Japanese TV Gaora Sports to be launched in Dragon Gate's ~ Infinity ~ Series. This would mark Dragon Gate's second September Sendai Sun Plaza Hall show under its new name. The previous event was held under the name Memorial Gate in Sendai name. The event will air worldwide on Dragon Gate's internet streaming site, Dragon Gate Network. On August 24, it was announced the full card of the event.
Storylines[]
The Gate of Origin (2020) featured professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers portrayed villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.

R.E.D (Kazma Sakamoto, Kento Kobune, and Takashi Yoshida), who defended the the Open The Triangle Gate Championship at the event
The event was main evented by R.E.D (BxB Hulk and KAI) defending the Open The Twin Gate Championship against Dragon Gate (Kzy and YAMATO). On November 15 at Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival, Hulk and KAI defeated Kota Minoura and YAMATO to win the vacant Open The Twin Gate Championship. After the match, KAI and Hulk began attacking Minoura and YAMATO, until their Dragon Gate stablemate Kzy made the save. Afterwards, Kzy and also on YAMATO's behalf challenged KAI and Hulk to a title match at Gate of Origin. KAI had previously turned on Dragon Gate at Dangerous Gate during the six-way steel cage survival match.
Also at Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival, R.E.D (Kazma Sakamoto, Takashi Yoshida, and SB KENTo) successfully defended the Open The Triangle Gate Championship against Dragon Gate (Ben-K, Yosuke♡Santa Maria, and U-T) and Toryumon (Dragon Kid, Kagetora, and Masato Yoshino) in a three-way match. Afterwards, SB KENTo began berating Yoshino's retirement, before entering in a heated confrontation with the rest of Yoshino's Toryumon stablemates, who felt disrespected by R.E.D. Yoshino's Toryumon stablemates Genki Horiguchi and Susumu Yokosuka also made their intentions of challenging for the Open The Triangle Gate Championship.
