Tokyo Pro Wrestling was the name of two professional wrestling promotions, based out of Tokyo, Japan.
History[]
1966-1967[]
Tokyo Pro Wrestling, founded by Toyonobori, featured Johnny Valentine, Rusher Kimura, Haruka Eigen and Antonio Inoki. The company folded in 1967, and the owners went on to start International Wrestling Enterprise.
1994-1998[]
Tokyo Pro Wrestling, founded by Takashi Ishikawa, featured local independent talent Great Kabuki, Masanobu Kurisu, Masao Orihara, Mr. Pogo, Shigeo Okumura, Apollo Sugawara, Minoru Fujita, Nobuhiko Takada, Tarzan Goto, Tomoaki Honma and others.
The company also featured overseas talent, former WWE Champion Edge, former WWE and Stampede star Bad News Allen, ECW Champion Sabu, Abdullah the Butcher, Eddie Jackie, Tom Howard, Mark Starr, Shocker, 2 Cold Scorpio and Jerry Flynn.
Tokyo Pro Wrestling ran its last show on February 13, 1998.
