Shuji Ishikawa and Suwama also referred to as Violent Giants was a professional wrestling tag team working for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where they were a former three-times World Tag Team Champions, while also being the winners of the 2017 World's Strongest Tag Determination League. Tokyo Sports cited Violent Giants win at the World's Strongest Tag Determination League after two months of existence impact as one of the factors in the magazine giving them the 2017 Tag Team of the Year Award.

In April 2016 Suwama and Shuji Ishikawa were announced as participants of the 2017 Champion Carnival in the same block. On the tournament first day Suwama defeated Ishikawa. After the tournament Suwama and Ishikawa would later feud over the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship in which Ishikawa was victorious. On September 9, 2017 Ishikawa teased a potential alliance with Suwama, but he stated that he was only focused on the Ōdō Tournament. The two faced each other in the finals of the tournament, where Suwama defeated Ishikawa to win the tournament. After the match, the two agreed to form a team. On October 9, Suwama defeated Kento Miyahara to win the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship. He lost the title to Joe Doering on October 21. In December Ishikawa and Suwama took part of the World's Strongest Tag Determination League, finishing the tournament with a record of six wins and three losses, advancing to the finals. On December 12, Suwama and Ishikawa defeated Hideoyoshi Kamitani and Daichi Hashimoto in the finals to win the tournament. On January 3, 2018 Suwama and Ishikawa defeated Jun Akiyama and Takao Omori to win the World Tag Team Championship. They lost the titles to Kento Miyahara and Yoshitatsu on February 3, they would regain it on June 30, after defeating Dylan James and Ryoji Sai. From November 13 to December 11, Violent Giants took part in the World's Strongest Tag Determination League, finishing the tournament with a record of seven wins and three losses, advancing to the finals of the tournament. On December 11, Violent Giants were defeated by Dylan James and Joe Doering in the finals. On January 13, 2019, They lost the titles to Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi. On March 19, 2019 They won the titles back from them. They would lose the titles to Zeus and Ryoji Sai on Septmeber 3, they would regain it on January 2. From November 22 until December 7, Ishikawa and Suwama took part in the 2020 World's Strongest Tag Determination League, finishing the tournament, with a record of four wins and three losses, failling to win the tournament. On January 2, 2021, Ishikawa and Suwama lost the World Tag Team Championship to Kento Miyahara and Yuma Aoyagi. Afterwards, Ishikawa and Suwama decided to disband the Violent Giants, as a result of their title loss.
