Yota Tsuji (辻陽太, Tsuji Yōta, born September 8th, 1993) is a Japanese professional wrestler currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he works as a "young lion".

Early Life

Before wrestling, Tsuji had played baseball, American football and had done Taekwondo. In March 2012, he graduated from Yokohama Tateno high-school. In March 2016, Tsuji graduated from Nippon Sport Science University.

Professional wrestling career

New Japan Pro Wrestling (2017–present)

In April 2017, Tsuji was signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling under the promotion's "young lion" system. The following April, at Lion's Gate Project 11, on April 10, Tsuji made his professional wrestling debut losing to fellow young lion Tomoyuki Oka. As is customary for most professional wrestlers and various young lions, Uemura spent most of his matches losing to other, more experienced wrestlers, which would help put over other wrestlers while at the same time give Uemura some in-ring, televised, experience. On September 5, Tsuji got his first professional wrestling victory teaming with Ren Narita facing fellow young lions Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura in a winning effort. After losing most of his matches throughout 2019, Tsuji was granted a chance to enter in the 2019 Young Lion Cup in September during the Road to Destruction tour, following a heated rivalry between the young lions of the Japan and L.A. dojos, that was build up during the 2019 G1 Climax and Super J-Cup tours. Tsuji would finish the tournament with a record of two win and five losses, failing to win the tournament. In June 2020, Tsuji took part in the 2020 New Japan Cup, being eliminated from the tournament by Togi Makabe in the first round on June 16. In the following years tournament, Tsuji was defeated by Yuji Nagata on March 9, 2021. In June to July 2021 Tsuji would wrestled series of matches against members of the NJPW roster that ended in him losing all of his matches.
